他のレビューを見てもわかるように、本書の３編はそれぞれテーマとなる曲がある。クラシックやピアノ曲に親しみのない人のために曲の解説がさりげなく入っているが、話自体は曲を知らなくても問題なし。
子供時代~少年時代の色彩の中で、どこか心温まるストーリー。作家の方々が賞賛するだけあって、すんなりと読者を引き込ませる文章力はさすが。おかげで通勤の暇つぶし用に買ったのに、結局一日で一気に読み終えてしまった。
読みやすいので誰でも楽しめるが、特に少年時代を振り返って感傷に浸りがちなお年頃の方にオススメ。

　いまさらながらの森さんの本。でも、とくにタイトルの作品がいつまでも心に残っている。ピアノ教室の日本人離れした絹子先生と、スキンシップ大好きの（？）フランス人のサティのおじさん。この二人の関係が児童文学という制約の中で、絶妙に描き出されている。幼く思われようと、「わたし」と親友は、絹子先生とサティのおじさんの関係をちゃんと理解して、惹かれていく。わかったつもりになって、不潔だと離れていく周囲の大人たちこそ悲しい。大人でないからこそ真実を見抜けた日々を、なつかしく、甘酸っぱく思い出させてくれる秀作だと思う。

恩田陸や姫野カオルコと同様に、この人も映像的な記憶力を持っているんでしょうねぇ。あの頃をはっと思い出させます。短編だけに読後感は軽いですが楽しめます。
