私は最初に聖なる黒夜を読んでからこの本を手に取ったので、山内と麻生にフォーカスを当てて読みました。この小説の中では脇役のはずなのに、彼ら二人のひとつのストーリーができあがってるように思いました。もうすっごく切なくて泣けました。聖なる黒夜を読んだ人には是非読んで欲しいし、この聖母の深き淵を読んだ人には聖なる〜を読んで欲しいです。

永遠の女神もそうでしたが、柴田さんのRIKOシリーズは刑事もののサスペンスなのに、完成度の高い純愛小説のような感じがします。いくつもの純愛の形があって、その一つ一つが幸せだったり、切なかったり、苦しかったり。そのへんの描写の上手さは女性作家ならではだなぁと思いました。推理小説やハードボイルド、純愛までも包括した一度で三度美味しい小説だと思います。

主人公の緑子も母になったことで、前巻とはまた違った強さと魅力が出てきたように思います。しかしやっぱり弱さもあって、そこがこの主人公の最大の魅力なのかもしれません。つぎの月神の浅き夢を読むのが楽しみです。
一気に読めてしまう面白さだったし、前巻ほど凄惨でもなかったので☆５つで。

まるで精密な設計図から精密な機械を作るように、組み立てられている。この作品を読んでそう感じた。一つ一つの出来事が、読む進めていくうちに、収まるところに収まっていく。読者はどんどん作品の中に引きずり込まれていく。警察官、母、女、さまざまな顔を見せながら奔走する緑子の姿は美しい。彼女は自分の弱さを知っている。知っているからこそ逆に強くなれる。
この作品の根底に流れるのは「愛」にほかならない。人は愛するものを守るためには、どんなことも厭わない。だが時には、それは悲劇を生む。事件が解決しても、それが決して人を救うことにはならない。ラストの描写の切なさが胸に残った。
