本当の南総里見八犬伝は全10巻あるそうなのですが、
こちらのは全4巻、はしょった部分が多いのではって思うのですが、
凝縮されているだけあって、より解りやすくトントンと読めました。
こうゆう時代劇ものの物語はやたら覚え難い人物名や登場人物が
多いのですが、忘れかけた頃に出てくる登場人物など下の空白部分に

人物の顔イラストを小さくした物がのってるので、あぁ、あの時の
あいつか！と、思いだしながら読めます。THE八犬伝というアニメを
同時進行で見て読んだんですが、あぁ、なるほど。。
と２度楽しめました＾＾文章嫌いな私がすすめるこの本是非是非
読んで下さい！

最初の30ページではまってしまいました。
ストーリー他の皆さんが言うようにホントに分かりやすくかつ面白いです。挿入のイラストもレトロ調かつ幻想的で絶品。よく雰囲気を盛り上げてます。泣ける場面もあるし結局全冊3日間で読んでしまいました。大人から子供（小学校高学年以上くらい?）まで誰にも推薦できるいい本だと思いました。

これは本当に面白い！
注釈的に登場人物の絵が何回も出てくるので、誰でもすんなり入っていけるでしょう。またそのイラストがいい！八剣士や味方キャラはほとんど美男子や美少女。ワル者はいかにもって顔しているから想像し易いです。
八犬伝には興味があるけど・・・という人にはもってこいですね。是非４巻まとめて読んで欲しいです。
