　西丸四方氏の文体が好きで、今や入手難の本書を図書館で借りて読んだ。ん〜、やっぱり良いなあ。古今東西の思想哲学文芸からの引用も豊富なので、ある程度の人文系教養があった方がより楽しめるが、精神病の症例紹介は正に芸術的だな。本書では有名人の大川周明、ニーチェ、フロイト、青山半蔵の症例研究が白眉。特に大川周明の症例は以前より興味があったが、適当な文献を見付けられないままであったので、とても有難かった。ニーチェとフロイト両方に関係のあった妖婦ルー・サロメについては今まで殆ど知らなかったが、非常に興味が引かれた。
　後半部、精神異常の振りをするコツのようなものが詳しく述べられていてこの部分が絶版の理由かとも思われた。
