　ジュリーに熱狂した少女達も、いつしか更年期を迎える。ずっとジュリーを心の支えにしてきた人もいれば、今再び思い出して、現在のジュリーに共感する人もいる。何かに夢中になる人って（お金とギャンブルを除き）、チャーミングだ。
　更年期というテーマが少しこなれていない気がしたが、ジュリーとファンとの心の交流が温かく共感できる。何より、ジュリーに対して作者自身も敬意をもって書いていることが感じられ、品がある。

４０代にもなれば、若い娘さんのようにケラケラ笑いながら生きていけるわけでもなく、いろいろあります。この本を読むまでは、更年期イコール女でなくなることと思っていましたが、子供を産む予定がもうないのであれば、更年期がきてもそんなに深刻になる事もないかな？と思えるようになりました。更年期は大変のようですが、そんなに辛くなく通り過ぎる人もいますし、若くてもストレスでイライラ、鬱になる人もいます。沢田研二は、やはりすごい人だったのか？ナチスのロゴを腕につけ、テレビに出て顰蹙をかって、国語の先生が｢教養がない歌手だなあ｣とつぶやいたのは、私が中学生のころ？でも、それ以上にアーチストとして、頑張っているジュリーの近況がわかってよかったです。年をとっても楽しく生きていけるよと作者の暖かいメッセージが伝わりました。

更年期の女たちのオムニバスは、女やっていくのはどの女にも平等に大変だって思わせる。
所々に出てくる様々な女のセリフに頷く女が多いのではないだろうか。
一難去って又一難。
女の人生には、独身でも、既婚でも、離婚しても、雑事に振り回される。
女は愛想よく、元気に機嫌良くやっておけなんて、無理な注文が多いこの社会。
出てくる女達は＜女の充電＞を見付け、人生の先輩として心強く魅力的だった。
ただ、キイワードになる沢田研二は世代間のギャップで流して読んでしまいましたが、それでも女の人生を悲喜こもごも見事に書かれて面白かったです。
