阿Qは当時の中国人の内面をモデル化したものというのは
万人が知るところであります、
しかし、私がこの本を読んで何よりも衝撃だったことは、
私の中にも阿Qは存在するということでした。
全てを自分の都合のいいように考え、そのくせ人に誇れる
ような努力はせず、他人に愛を与えることをせず愛を乞う
ばかりの滑稽で哀れな存在。
青春時代の私はまさに阿Qそのものでした。

魯迅の処女作であり、中国の近代文学の出発点となった作品である。
中国の古い封建的な社会制度の中で暮らす人々に対して、「狂人」が異常を感じる。
「狂人」は他のものすべてが、自分を監視していると感じている。
その社会における常識と、新しい目、世界から見た常識が交錯し、常に相容れずに結末を迎えている。

去年、魯迅公園だとか魯迅博物館に行って以来、
読まなきゃと思っていた魯迅。
国慶節で日本に帰ったときに、ヨメが買ってきていました。

魯迅の最初の作品集である『吶喊』（とっかん）をそのまま
再現した短編集。
冒頭の「自序」を含めて15作品が収められています。

中国近代文学の父と呼ばれる魯迅が、20世紀初頭、
清代末期から中華民国の時代までの、中国人民の
苦悩を皮肉も交えて描いています。
どこかで感じたことのある雰囲気だなと思ったら、
日本の明治の文豪、夏目漱石と会い通じるところが
あるように思えます。
古い価値観と新しい価値観の狭間の中で揺れ動き、
世を憂う心。

代表作である「阿Q正伝」だとかは入っているのですが、
日本にもゆかりの深い「藤野先生」は収録されていません。
別の文庫には入っているみたいですが。
機会があったら、読んでみたいですね。
