子どもが１歳１０ヶ月の時に買いました。全部で６８の歌が載っています。
ほとんどの歌が、１ページまたは見開き２ページごとに絵が大きく１つ、そして歌も１つ、という構成で掲載されていて、幼児にもわかりやすいです。文字も大きく、幼児向きに作られた絵本だと思います。その反面、１番しか載っていない歌が多いですが、両方取る訳には行かないので、仕方ないかなと思います。（サンプルページのように余白が多いのはむしろ例外的で、ほとんどのページでは、ページいっぱいに文字が書かれています。）
表紙にも描かれているような、擬人化された動物が歌の場面を演じている絵が多いので、ごく幼い子でも喜ぶと思います。幼児向けとはいえ、わりと細かく書き込まれた絵なので、絵をネタに子どもと!いろいろお話できます。母と子の描かれている絵が、お互いを慕い慈しむ感じがどれもよく出ていて、私はとても好きです。
ただ１つ、ハンプティ・ダンプティの歌で、うさぎが食卓から卵を落として割ってしまう情景が連続した絵で描かれているのが、せっかくのなぞなぞ歌なのにストレート過ぎて、私の個人的な好みとしてはちょっと残念でした。
全体として、絶対にこれでなくちゃ！という程のインパクトはありませんが、まずたいていの幼児にはおすすめできるマザーグース絵本だと思います。
