UK版とUS版のどっちを買おうか迷ってました。話によると、両者は随分と違うと聞いていたので・・・でも、単語や言い回しが違うだけだろう・・・と見込んで、US版を買ってしまいました。「賢者の石」だけは、UK版で購入しているので、US版と比べてみました。確かに、タイトルから違う！UK版は、HP and the Philosopher's Stoneになっていて、US版は、Philosopher→Sorcererになっている。でも、最初のページを読み比べてみたけど、違いは全くなかったです。本当の原書を読みたいという方は、UK版を読んだ方がいいかもしれないですが、とにかくハリーポッターの世界を知りたいという方は、値段も安いUS版でいいのでないでしょうか？US版には、目次が付いているし、１ページあたりの文字数も少ないので（その分、ページ数は多くなりますが）、読みやすいと思います。

１から３年目までは、既に映画で見ていたのですが、映画よりも細部まで描写されているので、とても楽しかったです。４年目と５年目は、それぞれ800ページ位（１から３の３倍位）あるので、かなり大変です。でも、読み出したら止まらないし、ハリーの世界に入り込んだような気分になれます。

夏には６年目がリリースされますが、６年目までのボックスセットが出るのは、もっと先になりますよね？（シリーズが終わってからも、もちろんセットで出ると思いますが）それまで待てない！と思うなら、少しでも早く購入して、ハリーの世界に浸って下さい。１冊ずつ買うより断然安いし、１冊読んだら続きを読みたい！ってきっと思いますよ。

あの時は確か30％くらいoffで、安さに釣られて思わず購入しました。話の内容は、今さら私がコメントするまでもなく、十分面白いのですが、紙質のせいか字体のせいか、とにかく読みにくい（目が疲れる）のです。たまたまうちに届いた分だけかもしれませんが、所々印刷がかすれているような部分もあるし。初めてのＰＢだったので、ＰＢなんてこんなものかなぁと割り切っていたのですが、先日近所の書店でＵＫ版を見てみたら、実に読みやすくてショックでした。表紙の絵は桃屋のごはんですよの絵みたいで、人前で読むのも恥ずかしいし。ということで、内容と価格は大満足、見た目に不満あり、差し引き星３つです。

For information on the content of the books please read my individual reviews.

However for neophytes to the Potter series, this is an ongoing story of a young wizard and his pals coming of age and his adventures in learning how to deal with people and situations that become more of a challenge as he advances through age.

There is a lot more depth and research that went into this series than the superficial story that holds it together.

Starting out with a box set will allow you to read at your own pace and know that the next book is just waiting for you.

Box sets are also more esthetic on the shelf.

There will inevitably be a seven book set but can you wait?
