子どもにとって戦争で物やお金が無いことは不思議なことのようです。
だからこそ、実話に基づいたこのような絵本を読んで欲しいのです。
同時に物ができるのはたくさんの人のおかげなんです。
なんと羊の毛を刈るところから始まるアンナのオーバー作り。
お母さんの優しいまなざしと、辛抱強く一緒に待ったアンナ。
最後にお世話になった人々（もちろん羊さんも！）への
感謝の気持ちも丁寧に描かれています。

２０代になって、急に本が大好きになりました。クリスマスが近いので絵本を読もうと探しているときに急にふっと思い出したのがこの本です。小学２年の頃に教室の本棚に配架されていた本なのですが、何度も読んだ記憶があります。物語のタイトルも内容も思い出せませんでした。でも、なぜか「赤いコート」だけが強く印象に残っています。だから、この本を思い出したのだと思います。１４年ぶりにこの本に再会するべく、購入しようと思います。将来、子供ができたら、この物語と同じように手作りの赤いオーバーを仕立てて、親子で着るのが夢です。おススメの１冊です。

この本は、よく知らないまま評判だけで買った本です。
最初読んだ時は、正直、失敗したと思いました。
地味で教科書に出てくるような退屈な話しだと・・・
けれど、色合いが好きで、なんとなく絵本を読む時は、
この本も手にしていました。
そして、何度か読み返すたびに、どうしてだかわかりませんが、
とても好きな絵本になりました。
