Buying at Marketplace

Ordering Basics

  • When you buy a new, refurbished, used, or collectible item from Amazon Marketplace, you must pay with a credit card or an Amazon gift card. You can also use Convenience Store / ATM / Internet Banking / e-Money payment for some sellers.
  • Marketplace orders are covered by our A-to-z Guarantee , which will reimburse you for the order cost in certain situations.
  • Any Marketplace item should be identical to the new item listed by Amazon.co.jp, though condition may vary depending on whether the item is "used," "collectible" and so on.
  • Shipping costs differ from Amazon.co.jp rates and vary by item.
  • Sellers should ship items within 2 business days.
  • Amazon Marketplace is not an available option for all items on our Web site.

Shipping Times

Sellers should ship items within 2 business days. Domestic packages sent via standard shipping are expected to arrive within 4 to 7 business days. International shipments are expected to arrive in 12 to 17 business days.

Buyer and Seller Limits

Your purchases from Amazon Marketplace or Merchant purchases via the Amazon.co.jp website are guaranteed under A-to-Z guarantee up to ¥300,000 of the purchase price, including shipping charges.

Seller limits may vary by seller, and we cannot reveal specific velocity amounts.

Your Payment Information

We disburse funds to your seller from your credit card but do not pass along your credit card information. Additionally, the Amazon.co.jp A-to-z Guarantee covers you for purchases of up to ¥300,000.

Amazon.co.jp's Role

Because we are not directly involved in the completion of sales arranged on Amazon Marketplace, you will need to contact the seller directly for the following issues:

  • To check on your order or shipment status.
  • To cancel an order and receive a refund.
  • To return an order.

We do not contact customers on behalf of either sellers or buyers and we do not mediate in disputes. We do, however, offer our A-to-z Guarantee in the event that you cannot reach an agreement with your seller.

You can contact the seller through Your Account. Locate the Order Summary and click the "Problem with this order?" button, then select the "Contact Seller" button to e-mail the seller.

Please note most of Amazon Marketplace sellers only support Japanese.
