高橋ユキヒロ、高野寛、原田知世らによる新バンド。フォークの大御所、高田渡の息子である高田漣も参加している。
よくありがちな“女性ボーカルとバック”というスタイルではなく、メンバー6人が対等の位置で音作りを行っているのが巧い戦略だ。ユキヒロや高野がVoを取る楽曲では、原田はエレクトリック・バグパイプを奏で演奏者側に廻ったりコーラスを執ったりしている。
アルバム・タイトル通り「浮遊感」と「透明感」が漂う軽い作りとなっているアルバムで、かつてのYMOのような冷徹なノリではなく「クールで優しい音が漂う空間」を演出した、上等な仕上がりとなっている。かつてYMOファミリーとして一部で人気を博したバンド「World　Standerd」の世界をもっとポピュラーにして聴き易くした感じだ。
目立たないながらも高野寛のギターが陰からサポートする立場として絶妙なプレイを聴かせてくれ、また権藤知彦の管楽器が効果的にアクセントをつけているのが職人ワザっぽくて思わずニヤリとさせられる。また原田知世の自作曲も、なかなか面白い旋律を披露している。この浮遊感に合うVoとなると、日本では原田以外にはちょっと考えられない。「なるほど」のキャスティングだ。
しかしこのバンド、次作以降ではどういうアプローチをして来るのだろうか。このメンバーでやれる事の全てを、既にこのアルバムでやり切ってしまったような気がしないでもない。各人がそれぞれ充分なソロ活動を展開してはいるが、一時のスーパーセッションにならない事を祈りたい。

幸宏サン色の強いアルバムなんだろうなと思いきや..
根っこの部分(建築でいう基礎)を幸宏サンがしっかり支え、そこから上をみんなが自由に気持ち良く遊んでる感じが、
聴いてるこちらも気持ち良くさせてくれる作品です。
個人的には権藤サンが素晴らしい!

RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2008 in EZOにPupaとして登場した幸宏氏、日暮れ時のちょっと冷たい風に、知世姫の歌声とPupaのサウンドはベストマッチでした。BLUE MOON BLUEが音楽的に大成功した後の、ちょっとリラックスしたムード。なぜか、エレクトロニカなサウンドにも、抑鬱的で神経質な幸宏氏の歌声にも、自然に溶け込む知世姫のボーカルを中心に据え、信頼できる若い才能で周辺を固め、自分はあまりでしゃばらず、バンドとして楽しみたいという、これはそんな作品だと思います。若干の物足りなさはあるのですが、Pupaとしての息の長い活動を期待して、星５つです。
