2桁表示上段に計算式、下段に答えを表示する「2桁表示」を採用。
多機能定数を自動的に設定し繰り返し計算する「定数計算機能」、直前に求めた計算結果を次の計算式で利用できる「ラストアンサー機能」など便利な機能を搭載。

Sharp関数電卓のなかで数式通りに入力できる機種としてシリーズ最低限の機能を備える。以前は高級機種にしか登載されていなかったシミュレーション機能（ALGB），ソルブ機能が使えながら実売2000円以下という価格は非常にコストパフォーマンスが高い。現行の上位機種では，行列計算・リスト計算ができたり，式の記憶機能が付加されているが，これらの機能がどうしても使えないと困るという以外なら，特に入門者にお薦め。行列計算ができないとはいっても，2及び3元の連立一次方程式，2及び3次方程式は解くことができるし，簡単な統計計算もできる。
ただ残念なことに位取り機能（上カンマで表示）はあるが，CASIOでいうENGキーはSETUPメニューの奥底に隠れていて，浮動表示と指数表示とを切り替えるのは大変。
黒のボディに2ndFやALPHAキーのための表示（橙・緑）がよく映えて，視認性がよいことは評価できる。液晶もくっきり。

証券アナリスト用のため、三乗根等のちょっとした関数を使えればいいかなと思い、低価格もあってこれを購入しました。期待以上に使い勝手がよく、二次、三次関数の解まで簡単に求められることでかなり重宝しています。6、7年前はこのスペックだと5,000〜10,000円したのですが、今や定価はその半額以下ということで相当コストパフォーマンスが良い商品です。その他、低価格に見合わないボタンの押し心地、画面の見やすさ、黒色ボディにもとても好感が持てました。関数電卓1台目の方に特にオススメ。大学で使用するものであっても十分賄える機能です。
