やっぱり「犬神家ー」は旧作でしょう。新作は迷ったけど購入しませんでした。この作品は当初からミステリーマニアや熱狂的横溝ファンには「白い目」で見られており、その後のTV版などでは違う展開や演出がされました。でも！少なくとも一般の観衆には、この演出・展開が一番良かったと思います。読んで面白い小説や良くできた物語が、映画にして必ずしも良い作品になるとは思いません。ミステリーのような特殊な楽しみ方のあるジャンルはなおさらです。憎しみや打算だけで「犯罪」を描かなかったところにこの作品が映画として成功し、今でも多くのファンを持つ理由があると思っています。何より、石坂「金田一」の人間味を生かしきった作品となっています。大野雄二の名曲とともに市川崑の作り出した端正で深みのある（技術的には確かに古いですが）映像の世界を楽しみました。

何と言っても魅力は豪華実力派俳優がおテンコ盛りで出演されているところです。ちょっとした脇枠に三木のり平や岸田京子など豪華キャストをバンバン使うのも市川準監督の横溝シリーズの見所で、これはその最初の作品です。はやり石坂浩二の金田一耕介は話しに説得力があります。音楽もいまでも万人が知っている名曲です。是非、ゴタンノウあれ。
