ゴッホの生涯は活字を通してわかっていたつもりでしたが、映像でそれが徹底されていて非常に痛々しく物語全体が包みこまれ、絵と純粋なゴッホの生き様に惹きつけられ、悲しくなります。

本当にどうしようもない雰囲気を描ききったストーリーとティム・ロスの演技に良さに星５つにしました。

ティム・ロスが本物のゴッホに見えてしまうぐらいはまり役でした。
やぱっりティム・ロスは狂人役が、はまり役なのかな？

冒頭実際のオークションから始まり、何億にも価格が跳ね上がっていくのですが、売れずして亡くなるゴッホの生涯と、それを支えつづけてきた弟の生涯を描いているので、最後に冒頭のオークションのシーンが、何か虚しいような、良かったような気持ちになりました。内容的には何かジンとくる内容で大満足でしたが、ＤＶＤなのだからもう少し何か映像特典等があれば良かったです。
ストーリーは星五つです。

パッケージにはビスタサイズと表示されているが、本編の画面サイズはテレビサイズ（1.35：1）で、最後のスタッフ等一覧の部分のみがビスタサイズ（1.72：1程度）になっている。このサイズ変更は、注意書きの「映像や音の乱れ」には当てはまらないので、原作画面の両端のカットについて書かれていないパッケージの表示は不当表示だと考えている。どういう理由でテレビサイズの編集のまま販売されているのかはわからないが、本来の画面の持つ美しさが大幅に損なわれており、星２つ。
