その昔、この作品がよく再放送されていたころ、宿題も放り投げてテレビの前で大爆笑していた私...。こんなオールドファンにはもちろん、一度も見たことのない若い人にもおすすめです。このＤＶＤには私も初見の作品が収録されており、放送開始から４０年もたつというのに色あせることなく冴え渡るギャグ、現代の下手なコメディーが束になってもおそらくかないませんよ！

本国アメリカではABC系で1964年から1972年まで約8年間２５０本、
日本ではTBS系で1966年から放送された
アメリカの人気コメディ番組の待望のDVD化第1弾。
もちろんあの「奥様の名前はサマンサ、旦那さまの名前はダーリン…」のナレーションも健在。
当時のアメリカの一般家庭を再現して、日本人の憧れのライフスタイル、

主人公・サマンサのファッションなど、当時の日本のカルチャーに大きな影響を与えた。
放送から既に４０年がたとうとしているが、
今尚、世代を超えて愛されているシットコム（所々に観客の笑い声が入るドラマ）で、
かつてＴＶで見た事の多い人も多い事だろう。
この流れは、後の「ファミリー・タイズ」、「となりのサインフェルド」、

そして現在の「フレンズ」へと長く息づいているアメリカの伝統だ。

今回ＤＶＤ化されるＳ２は、実は最初は白黒で放送されたもので
今回のＤＶＤ化に当たって、現代の最新技術でカラー化したもの。
実はＳ２は元々が白黒だったと言う事もあって、
日本では公式には殆ど放送されなかったそうだ。
（カラー化されたのはＳ３から）

その為、今まで見たことの無い人も多い事だろう。
更にこのころは、サマンサ役のエリザベス・モンゴメリーは２人目の子供を妊娠していて、
（旦那様は「奥さまは魔女」の監督をしていた人でもある）
彼女の妊娠に合わせて、サマンサもドラマの中で実際に妊娠した。

長い事ＤＶＤ化を待ちわびていたファンも多い事だろう。
正に待望ののＤＶＤ化といえる。

ぜひ一度見て欲しい。
古き良き時代、そして皆があこがれていたころのアメリカが見えてくるはずだ。
そして、ひたすらにベトナム戦争でギスギスしていた当時のアメリカで
「アットホームなコメディ」を追求していった本作品は
今尚世代を超えて愛されている。

第１シーズン同様、今ＢＯＸも二話欠番があるのが残念。
今回の欠番は第６３話「The Leprechaun」と第６８話「まじめダーリンとあそびダーリン」。
前者は、黄金の壺を取り返しに来た自称ダーリンの親戚である妖精のオブライエンが巻き起こす（いつもの）騒動を描いた話。

後者は、仕事を取るか家庭を取るかで悩んだダーリンを、エンドラが魔法で「まじめダーリン」と「あそびダーリン」に分けてしまって起こる（いつもの）騒動を描いた話。
６３話に関しては、邦題も含め資料がほとんど無いが、６８話は第１８５話（第６シーズン）でリメイク版が見られるので、発売を待とう。
