   大スター高倉健主演による、角川映画第3弾のバイオレンスアクション超大作である。原作は『人間の証明』と同じ森村誠一。クライマックスの戦闘シーンの数々は、国内では撮影不可能と判断してアメリカロケを敢行した。戦車や銃器など、本物の迫力にあふれている。80年代最大のアイドル映画スター、薬師丸ひろ子の記念すべきデビュー作でもある。東映ヤクザ映画路線の個性派俳優も、大勢出演。主題歌は町田義人『戦士の休息』。（的田也寸志）

戦闘シーンは良かったですね。自衛隊が協力しなかった為に米軍が協力したり撮影もアメリカで撮ってます。しかしこの作品に出て来る自衛隊の特殊工作隊みたいな特殊部隊は現実に自衛隊に存在してます

共産主義者の森村誠一原作とあって、実に奥深い内容の映画となっている。違憲の軍隊と呼ばれる自衛隊の存在意義を、巧みな肯定と否定の技術で鑑賞者はそのことを考えさせられる。国民を守るための自衛隊が、国民に銃を向ける矛盾。そして、自らの犯した残虐性に疑問を持ち、除隊した味沢（高倉健）の持つ人間愛。一度は味沢を憎んだものの、その無差別な愛情に名台詞「おとうさーん」を叫んだ頼子（薬師丸ひろ子）の熱演は、今でも私の心に響いている。キャスティングも内容も実に豪華そのもので傑作といえる一枚だ。有事法制にゆれる現在に問題提起する、堂々たる森村誠一の力作。

デビュー当時の薬師丸ひろ子がとても新鮮でなんだかほのぼのとさせてくれます。（サスペンスなのに） 高倉健の役柄は、ぴったりはまっています。 自衛隊、東北、そして殺人とストーリーは、まさに１００点満点です。 私はたくさんの映画を見ていますが、DVDを買うのは、ほんとうに何度も見て飽きないものだけです。 ぜひ購入お勧めのDVDです。
