ギタリストの失踪、そして脱退というダメージを負いながらもバンドは進んだ。足をもがれても、翼を生やし、一気にここまで辿り着いた。
「PARADOX PARADE」はそれ程に、大きな飛躍を遂げた進化作である。

1stでも十分に力を出し切ったといえる出来だったが、サポートの力も借りたにせよ、このハイペースでここまでスケールアップした作品を作ってしまうとは驚いた。さらにハードに、さらにダンサブルに、さらにポップに、さらにメロディアスに、さらにロマンチックに。このバンドの持ち味が全て倍加ような感覚。まるで手応えが違う。
ブレのないバンドのサウンドに甘く擦れた渋い歌声、そして豪華ギタリスト陣が本当に素晴らしい仕事をしている。それぞれ楽曲の色に合わせた見事な演奏、特にFoZZtone竹尾の功績はでかい。

個々の曲の細部までアレンジが冴え渡り、アルバム全体としても素晴らしい。前作では居心地の悪かったセッションも、きっちりと収まっているどころか、その存在意義がはっきりと見えてくる。
ハイライトは「アンドロメダ」と「プリズム」だと思う。正直こんな正統派の名曲が出てくるのはもっと先だろうと思っていた。或いは勝負時にシングルでと考えていたので、このタイミングでのアルバムに収まってくるとは、全くの予想外。まだまだ勢いで突き進むことも出来ただろうに、異常な進化速度だ。
そして歌詞の力も圧倒的に増した。大袈裟に言えば、単なるセンテンスの結びつきだったものが、しっかりと感情やメッセージに則った物語を描き切っている。それくらい違う。それに伴って歌声がまた素晴らしく活きている、という相乗効果も。


奇跡的な名盤。このクオリティを保って進めるかは未知数だが、まだまだ底知れないバンドである。きっと期待できると思う。
まずはとにかく、こいつは必聴だ。
