ゆったりとしたリズムと深みのある歌声は相変わらず。
新作「ザ・フォール」では、
前作から顕著になったバンドスタイルが進化して、
ちょっとブリティッシュなテイストを感じさせる渋めのPOPを演っているようです。

とは言え、最初に書いたとおりで、
ノラジョーンズのベーッシクな魅力は崩すことなく、
その点はとってもコンサバティブ。
大売れしつかどうかは分かりませんが、
ファンはついてくると思います。

他のレビュアーの方が指摘しているが、私もダニエル・ラノワのプロデュースしたボブ・ディランの作品、例えばタイム・アウト・オブ・マインドのＮｏｔ　Ｄａｒｋ　Ｙｅｔを連想した。ハンサム・バンドと別れ、バック・メンバーを一新し、歌唱の幅が広がり、ロック色が濃い曲（代表的にはいかしたＭ４）が多くなり、エレキ・ギターの比重が増し、恋愛・愛憎を直接的に語る歌詞が増えても彼女の芯に変わりはない。例えばＭ１１等の静かな曲のように１作目にあってもおかしくない曲もある。このように確実にアーティストとしてのレンジを広げつつ、楽曲、演奏そしてノラのヴォーカルのクォリティは非常に高い。そしてダニエル・ラノワを思わせるエコー処理が充実した音響空間を作り上げる。

ダニエル・ラノワ＋ディランの場合、曲の弱さを響きでカバーする面があったが、本作の場合、素材自体が非常に優れており（捨て曲なし）、ジャクワイア・キングの録音、ミックス、プロデュースがクォリティをさらに高めている。曲＋歌唱＋演奏＋プロデュースの大勝利といっていい傑作だ。
