面白いですね、派手な変形ではありませんが印象が雑誌の写真で見る以上に違います。
基本となるアストレイ自体は発売は数年前になりますが素晴らしいキットと言えますが、MGのブルーフレームと並べると世代を感じます。
1月にこの機体のセカンドが発売されますが非常に楽しみです。
いずれはMGでも欲しいですが、難しいかなやっぱりレッドフレームやゴールドフレーム系の機体が優先順位高そうですし。
刀の刀身やビームライフルはレッドフレームのジャンクキットから使用しました。

すでに他のレビュアーの方も書いている通り1/100ガンダムSEEDシリーズの名作キットガンダムアストレイレッドフレームに新規ランナー1枚（主にグラジエーターモードになるためのパーツ）を付属したものです。BソードやAソードの可動部には1/144ガンダムSEEDシリーズ（通称コレクションシリーズ）で採用されたポリキャップを使用するといったアイディアも良いと思います。
ただ、新規ランナー1枚という制約はやはりホイールシールがあるとはいえ、ディテールの簡略化およびおもちゃっぽさが出てしまうといえるでしょう。具体的には後頭部（グラジエーターモード時のフェイス）はセンサーを透明パーツに分けてほしかったことと白いパーツがよかったです。またAソードに関しては通常形態にした場合ぐらぐらしている点はマイナスです。変形した際のAソードのロック機構は評価できますが。成型色に関しては白いパーツはもう少し紫ぽい色にしても良かったと思います。（結果的に自分で調合したカラーで塗装しました）。名作キットとはいえ金型の問題で腕や足の上部のパーツ合いが悪かったりディテールがたるくなっている部分もあります。ダボ切りや堀り直しか新造によるデテールの工作は完成度を高めるには必須です。
そういった意味では限界なのかなという点が星の数の理由です。
しかし、1月発売のミラージュフレームセカンドイシューによりまた、姿が変貌しています。（腕と足に新規パーツを入れ四足獣形態に変形可能）。その商品が出るまで待つというのも一考ではないでしょうか。

以前BB戦士シリーズで商品化された武者○伝シリーズの破牙丸をリアルシリーズに戻した感じです。金型流用ゆえの問題(菊一文字の銘の無変更やピンクのビームライフル)は、「組めば見えない」「黒でひと塗り」と理解しましょう。選択肢は与えられた。選ぶ選ばないは自分で決めるべし。
