ストロークスでも発表出来そうなの曲が半分、これはソロじゃないと発表出来ないだろうって曲が半分って感じの内容です。ただなんというか、Left & Right in the Darkのベタベタなシンセとか、Ludlow St.の中近東風なイントロみたいな、ストロークスファンからすると驚くのを通り越して、軽く引いてしまうような展開が結構あるんですね。

ストロークスの3rdアルバムにはこれ以上やったら、1stが好きなファンの「何か」が崩れてしまうような瞬間が結構あったんですが、このソロアルバムは凄い微妙な均衡で保っていた「何か」をバッキバッキに壊したって感じです。凄い抽象的ですが。

ただ無難なソロにしなかったのは良かったと思います。ジュリアンの中に、今までと同じではない、やれる事がまだあるって事が分かったわけですから。

そして色々アイディアをぶち込んでる事がありありと分かる作品の中で、一貫してメロディーラインが立ちまくってくるのはさすがだなって思いました。

ジュリアンぽさが充満してます。ストロークスとはやっぱ違い、ジュリアンの個性が強いですね。

自分的には満足でした。４thアルバムが楽しみですよ。全く

これは単なるソロ作品の粋を超えている。 本当に凄い作品である。
音楽からアートワークまでストロークスがこの人なしで存在しなかった意味が痛い程に痛感する。
最高に美しく、最高にクールで最高に暖かいジュリアンの世界にまた一歩踏み入れてしまった。

あんた凄いよ。
