シングル聴いていて非常に期待してました。期待しすぎると最近は裏切られることもあるんですが、今回は期待通りの出来でした。

前作はポップかつ１７歳というタイトルからも甘酸っぱい感じで、自分の歳から言うとあまり共鳴しないというか、気恥ずかしいというかそんな感じがありました。

しかし今作では従来の甘い路線から離れ、自問自答の歌詞のものが多く、楽曲もいっそう深くなっている感じです。
相変わらず存分にポップではあるんですが、なんと言うか、ジャケットのような"黒い"イメージの曲が多く、ロック色も増しているのではないでしょうか？

もちろんすべてがそういうわけじゃなく、７など今までの路線のものもありますが、１はアニメ主題歌とは思えないほど重いし、３，４とかは歌詞が深く、5は楽曲的に新しく、6のようなサビ展開は初めてだし、全体の内容が非常に濃くなってるなと感じました。捨て曲はありません。

しかしこのアルバムのイメージを決めているのは、ラストの曲ですね。
「ひとつだけなんだ、そう、ひとつだけ」
そう、いつも壁を作ってるのは自分自身。壁を破るのも誰でもなく自分自身。
ジャケットは壁の先に道が続いてます。一見すると単純ながら、よく見ると深いです
非常に重い歌詞だと思います。今まで恋を歌ってきた小出さんの歌詞とは思えません。

またラスト曲、そのまま放置してみて下さい。壁の先が見えるかもしれません。

多くの中堅バンドが路線を失い路頭に迷う中、この作品でＢＢＢは確実に進化してると思います。私がＢＢＢに求めてきた姿がここにあります。個人的には最高傑作。

今までとっつきにくかった２０代以上の世代にもオススメしたい作品です。

今回の3rdは、シングル曲が約半分を占めていますが、それに負けないくらいアルバム曲も輝いています。
特にシングル曲が出揃ったあとの9〜12曲目は!

ただ、changesのアルバムver.は音的に軽くなっている感じで、個人的にはシングルver.の方が好みですね。
次曲の神々〜への繋ぎの弾き語りの部分はとても良かったですが。

これは今後のツアーや武道館ライブにも期待せずにはいられないですね!


何だかCDと関係ないことをレビューしている方がいるようですが、まぁそれは置いておいて、CMもアルバムのイメージとぴったりの出来だと思います。

Base Ball Bear、約2年ぶりのニュー・アルバム「（WHAT IS THE)LOVE&POP?」。
怒涛のシングル攻勢に続いて届けられたアルバムは、その流れに沿うように勢いと情熱に満ちた力作になった。

まず思ったよりドラマチック。
シングル勢のことを考えるとポップで軽く聴けるアルバムかな、と思ったら
ギターはジャンジャン鳴ってるわ、バンドの演奏もぶ厚いわではっきりとした聴き応えがある。
　その上、アルバムの流れもアップテンポでキャッチーな曲とミドルテンポでシリアスな曲と上手い具合に混ざり合っていて、
そこまでシングルが目立つヒットパレードアルバム、という感じじゃないのが驚き。
アルバム一枚通してカタルシスを与える類の作品である。

あと、影響も素直に吐き出すようになった。
1stではスーパーカーやナンバーガールを意識したサウンドワークで
2ndではそこからの脱却を図って歌謡曲の要素やポップ性を高めた印象だったが
このアルバムはルーツから逃げず、かといって必要以上に影響を感じさせない、ようやく小出祐介自身の音楽を鳴らし始めた印象である。いい意味で開き直ってる。
「夕方ジェネレーション」から聴いているリスナーとしては、そこが何より嬉しい。

楽曲的にはスパルタローカルズの血が入ったような「Stairway Generation」、
一番と言っていいくらい突き抜けた歌ものポップ「神々LOOKS YOU」、
そして言葉選びに独特のものを感じる「レモンスカッシュ感覚」がお気に入り。


尚、ブックレットにはそれぞれの楽曲を象徴するイラストが数点ついています。
そして「最後まで」聴いてこそこのアルバムは完成に至る気がする。
