VAMPS(ヴァンプス)

HYDE(L'Arc~en~Ciel)とK.A.Z(Oblivion Dust)からなる注目のロックユニット。
2003年以降のHYDEソロワークを共同プロデュースしてきた2人。
2008年7月2日に発売した1stシングル「LOVE ADDICT」を引っさげ、全国6大都市のZEPPで合計46本を行うという前代未聞のツアー「VAMPS LIVE 2008」を成功させる。
2009年2月4日にライヴDVD「VAMPS LIVE 2008」リリース。
3月13日には2009年の幕開けとして2ndシングル「I GOTTA KICK START NOW」をリリース。
5月13日には3rdシングル「EVANESCENT」、そして6月10日に1stアルバム「VAMPS」のリリース。

ほぼ英詩なのに直感的に内容がわかるのがいいですね。
簡単な英語を選んでるってのもあるかもしれないですが。
個人的にはSO BEAUTIFUL I'VE NEVER SEENを「なんて素敵な〜」って意訳してるのが印象的でした。

でもAcousticバージョンって何が変わるんだろう？
って発売前は思ってたけど、結構変わるもんですね。
これだけ大人しいと感じていたSWEET DREAMSもロックなんだなあって思わされましたから。
そして、EVANESCENTがハゲバラというのにも納得です。

あとDVDこちらはUSAツアーの総集編が映っていますが、絶対見て欲しいのはAcousticバージョン。
セッションみたいな感じでメンバーに囲まれて歌うhydeの生声が聴けます。
音程を変えて歌っているので、これも新鮮でしたね。

リカットシングルではあるけど、SWEET DREAMSが好きなら持っておいて損はないですよ（＾＾）

vampsは激しいロックナンバーが多いのですが、
これは静かなバラードになっています。
アコースティック版は、さらに眠りを誘う感じｗ

実はＣＤには「通常のスイドリ」＆「アコバージョン」、
ＤＶＤには「通常のスイドリ」＆「アコのUSJアレンジ」が入っています。

おまけのDVDもvampsらしさに溢れた手作り感溢れるもので必見です。

一つ目はＵＳを含む、海外ツアーの実録となっていて、
各地のライブと旅の様子を知ることが出来ます。
日頃、ライブ追っかけ隊な方には切ない作り。

また、アコースティックのPVは評判の良かったUSJライブ・アレンジを楽屋撮りしたものですが、
まさに、見ている人へのホーム・ライブ状態です。
すぐ隣で、素顔のhydeさんに甘く透明な声でささやいてもらっているような
錯覚に陥る事ができます。
是非、お休み前に暗めのお部屋で、ヘッドホンかイヤホンで聴いてもらいたいです。

acousticの映像を観て、あまりの素晴らしさに言葉が出なかった・・・!
本当にHYDEは歌がうまいんだなぁと改めて気付かされました。
これからもVAMPSだからこそできる音楽を追求してほしいです。
