頭のてっぺんに雨粒がひとつぶ落ちた天気雨。
見上げた空一面に鳴り響いてる曲が「ホログラム」

「ホログラム」のようなポップな曲は誰にでも作れそうで、
実はそう簡単には作れないんじゃないかと思う。
ここンとこのNICOの勝負の賭け具合はハンパない。
本当に、自分たちを多くの人に知って欲しいと願う気持ちが強いんだなぁ・・

NICOは毎回キャリア以上の完成度なため、それが逆に印象的に映らないのでは？
と懸念したりもする。
「ホログラム」は、ストレートでキャッチーにまとまってるだけに
サラリと流れてしまうかも知れない。

これから聞いてみようかなって人、聞き続けて来た人にも
少しのおせっかいを。

うしろから肩をたたかれた時のような、不意打ちな心で聴いてみてください。
走り出す瞬間の不安と希望、瑞々しさ。
ひとつひとつのフレーズとメロディが、素直に胸の奥へ溶け込んだら
いつまでも心の中に残る良い曲だと思う。


「風人」　今回はやや遠慮がちなNICOの毒の部分。
　　　　　昔からのファンはこっちを好きな人が多いかと。
「あいたいきもち」　光村独特の定番ラブソング。

NICO Touches the Wallsの3ヶ月ぶりのニュー・シングル「ホログラム」。
満を持してこれから更なる高み、フィールドに飛び出して行こうとする強い意志を感じる重要なシングル。

フロントマンの光村龍哉はそもそも日本の昔の歌謡曲や大衆を掴むロックやポップスに大きな影響を受けていると公言しており、
そんな彼がいよいよもって大衆に受け入れられる器を持った、よりスケール感とポップ性を研ぎ澄ましたナンバーがこの「ホログラム」だと思われる。

歌詞で何度も力強く歌われる「真っ白」というフレーズ。
景色を塗り替えるような言葉も数多く出てきて、ロック色が強いバンドサウンドと共にとても前向きな思想を聴かせてくれる。
光村龍哉の歌と言葉には気持ちの良い扇情感を感じる。
　サビのメロディもダイレクトに頭に残ってリフレインする、実に中毒性の高いものになっている。
正にこの段階で発表するにはジャスト・タイミングな曲だと思う。これは相当良い。

そしてカップリングの「風人」はゴリゴリなバンドサウンドと超ポップなサビとの融合が面白い歪なロックナンバー、
「あいたいきもち」はMr.Childrenやスピッツにも通じる王道のロックバンド流のポップ・ナンバーに仕上がっている。
これらの楽曲も中々のもの。


兎に角、色々な角度から「攻め」を感じさせる充実のシングルである。次のアルバムやツアーが非常に楽しみ。

一曲目のホログラムもいいのですが、

二曲目の風人も負けず劣らずの曲です。

DVDに収録されている
ビデオクリップも
出来がよく、

完成度の高い作品です。


NICOの曲はどれも夏に映えるナンバーばかりです。

この時期に聴くと相乗効果あると思います。

是非ともこの時期に一枚。
