アーティストについて

石井秀仁(Vo./G.)、桜井青(G./Vo.)、村井研次郎(B.)、武井誠(Dr.)
2003年6月22日にベストアルバム「グッド・バイ」をリリースし、同日行われた日比谷野外音楽堂のライブを最期に、無期限活動休止に入る。

2009年4月1日に消費期限付きでの復活を発表。
5月20日に活動休止六周年記念企画として、春の予習用新教材「cali≠gariの世界」を発売。
6月20日Zepp TOKYO、6月23日SHIBUYA-AXにて復活ライブを行い、両公演ともチケットは即完となった。

8月26日には伝説のニュウアルバム「10」の発売も決定。
更には、消費期限切れ“マヂカ”のワンマンツアーが決定!

前作『カリ≠ガリの世界』が自身初のヒットを記録して、その初回版は瞬く間に売り切れ状態に。

また、オークションでは、復活後初のライブチケットは高額で取り引きされています。

これからもわかるように、cali≠gariは活動休止前と今とではファンの数も、注目度も全く変わりました。

活動休止前よりも人気が出るバンドというのも珍しいです。
それだけその時代で評価するのが難しかったバンドとも言えるし、『第6実験室』や『第7実験室』や『8』はようやく数年経った今だからこそ、「本当に凄い作品を作っていたんだ」というのがわかります。

今回、約6年ぶり(『いつか、どこかで。』以来)の完全オリジナル音源として、『9 -踏-/スクールゾーン』が発表されました。

1994年に『第1実験室』が産み落とされてから今回の『9』まで、ナンバリングにこだわり続けてきたcali≠gariの新作音源がようやく私たちのもとに届きます。

また青さん作詞・作曲の『スクールゾーン』というタイトル。
こんな曲名を付けられるバンドが今の邦楽シーンにいるでしょうか?
本当に久しぶりにcali≠gariらしい、それこそ『第5実験室』以前の懐かしさが込み上げてきますね。


蘇った数字が、これからどこまでカウントされていくのか、しっかりとこの目に焼き付けていきたいです。
