１９６９年の月着陸成功の一報からそれほど間を置かずに発売されタミヤの技術力を世界に知らしめたプラモデルが月着陸４０周年の今再版されました。

当時は原形制作から金型作成まで全て手作業で行われてた上に、NASAからの資料提供なんて無かったでしょうから、ＴＶの映像から見よう見まねで作ったんでしょうねぇ。
それを考えると驚きの出来です。

・・・が、現在のコンピューターのCADで設計・部品分割＆組み立て検証し、そのデータを元に機械切削で金型が作られる現代の精度に慣れた目で見るとやはり所々が甘い作りですね。
これはこれで良いと思う反面、最新技術で作られた物が欲しいとも思います。

で、今回の復刻版は当時のキットそのままではありません。
当時のプラモデルでは常識だった可動ギミック（モーターを内蔵し、天井から糸で吊り下げて飛び回らせる事が出来る）が廃止、ディスプレイ用に透明パーツで成形されたロケット外壁パーツが付属、窓に使う透明プラ板が付属、着陸船下部を覆っているサーマルブランケットを再現するための金色アルミ箔が付属しています。

コレクションアイテムとして割り切るか、フルディテールアップするかは各自の好き好きで。

40年前のキットの復刻版です。

謎のモータライズは一応オミットされていますが、スイッチや電池ボックスなどの痕跡はそのまま残ります。
月面を再現したディスプレイベースなどが付属するので、様々な形態でディスプレイ可能です。
元々プレイバリュー優先の作りなので、スケールキットの基準で見ると少々辛いものがあります。昔を懐かしむアイテムとして割り切るべきでしょう。

なお、メッキされている着陸船の脚がABSなので、メッキを剥いでの塗装は要注意。
