Sweet Vacation待望の1stアルバムです！
軽い感じのシンセ音やピコピコ音が印象的で、思わず体を動かしたくなるようなGroove感が満載です。

先行シングルでは「I miss you」「さよならマイデイズ」と泣きメロ系が続きましたが、
アルバム曲にはスイバケらしい青空を髣髴とさせる爽やかポップスが詰まっています。

特にM2〜M5の4曲の流れは本当に素晴らしく、
"why don't you beleave in, pop'll save the world"のフレーズが印象的な
ノリノリナンバーのM2「why don't you」など
とにかくキャッチーでしっかりした歌モノとしての出来はとてもよいです。
インタルードを挟んでのM7〜からは落ち着いた曲調も見られ、
M8では南国ヴォサノバの要素を、
M12ではロックのような激しいサウンドもあったりと、新しい挑戦も見られ、
ラストは「I miss you」でしっかり締めてくれる。

前半が素晴らしすぎる故にやや尻すぼみな感じがある、
インディーズ時の名曲は未収録(「I FEEL SO GOOD」「遊びに行こうよ」など)と、
少し惜しい部分もありますが、スイバケの魅力を感じるには十二分の1stだと思います。


またDVDはPV5曲・ライブ映像20分、メイキング20分と、
可愛いMayのビジュアルもかなり堪能できる作りになっています。
ちなみに16:9で作られた「I miss you」「Summer Day」「さよならマイデイズ」は4:3になっているので
ちょっと注意です。

たまたま2007年デビューから聞き続けていましたが、初のフルアルバムとのことです。
正直、やられた！と思った。(他の方も書かれているが、導入部から前半は特に素晴らしい)
中田ヤスタカの一連の作品群が成熟期に差し掛かっているのでは？(capsuleのベストアルバムリリースという事実からも伺える)、と思う人は聞いて見て損は無い、かもしれない。(さらに蛇足で言えば、初期capsuleのような曲があるようにも思われる。)


過去のカバー曲などからも分かるように、80年代-90年代のテクノサウンドリバイバルをベースに(特にTMN臭のする良曲も散在)、00年代の流行にもれないアイドルさが輝いている。
新規性としては、ヴォーカルのMayが王国タイ出身であるということ。いままでありそうでなかった。アジア出身アイドルは中国、韓国、台湾だけではない、という新時代の幕開けを感じさせる。
10年代をスイバケが駆け抜ける準備はこのアルバムで整ったようだ。

昨今のテクノ調ポップスの真打としても、高学歴'タレント'ブーム(笑)の真打としても(wikiより)、しばらくはこの二人の飛躍、活躍から目が離せませんな。

SweetVacation：バンコク生まれのキュートな女の子May（元タイアイドルグループPreppy-GのMae）と音楽プロデューサーのDaichi（東京エスムジカ）によるユニット。
　
　07年夏結成されて以来、ネットを中心に活動し、YouTube、iTunes、MySpaceなどでは曲の試聴が可能。気になる人は聴いてみるといいです。
　軽快なメロディーリズムとMayちゃんのかわいい歌声がマッチし、なんと言ってもMayちゃんの素敵な笑顔が元気を与えてくれるはずです。そして、頭から離れなくなってしまうかも（笑）。
　去年夏にメジャーデビューし、今年の夏についにメジャー1stアルバムをリリース。本当に楽しみだ！
　
　ちなみに、アルバムの12曲番目「Escape!!」は今夏Xbox360 LIVE Arcadeでリリースされる音ゲー「0Dビートドロップ」にも収録される予定だ（「Level Sweet」というスイバケ仕様ステージも）。360持ってる人はチェックしてみるといいかも。
