ＷＥＢ閲覧専用で購入しました。４万円台でしたのでそれほど期待していませんでしたが、期待以上でした。メモリは２Ｍに入れ替えました。メインのミニタワーとＡ４Core2Duo機は最近出番無しです。
良い点：通常利用では処理能力は問題無し。起動が早い。ディスクが１６０ＧＢ。キーボードが使いやすい。バッテリがもつ。画面が明るい。色が綺麗（鮮やか）。軽い。ＤＶＤは無くても問題無し。ＨＤＤプロテクションで安心。
いまいちな点：画面が横長で使いにくい（ＴＶガイド等の表示が×）。高解像度のビデオ再生にもたつく。
利用シーン：ＷＥＢ。ＷＥＢメール（gmail/Au/YahooBB）。GoogleEarth。GoogleDocment。ＩＥ８はOK。NortonInternetSecurityは起動/運用共スピード問題無し。BUFFALOのクライアントマネージャ３(V1.0.2)でAOSSは一発設定。

TOSHIBA製ネットブックはこれ以前にNB100シリーズがあったが、市場探索の意味合いが強く、画面はたったの8.9インチ、そのくせバッテリー駆動時間はカタログ値ですら3時間を切り、競合他社に比べるとあまりにもみすぼらしかった。

このUXでは、画面は他社なみに10.1インチになり、カタログ値ではあるがバッテリー駆動時間も4時間に延長されている。なによりの長所は、キーピッチが普通のA4ノートなみに広いこと。これなら、長文入力も苦にならない。OSがXPなので、CPUが貧弱でも遅くはない。

ネットブックはいわゆる「ニッチ商品」。本格的モバイルなら、20万円クラスのB5ノートに、パーフォーマンス、信頼性、バッテリー駆動時間など到底かなわない。
逆にコストパーフォーマンスを追い求めるなら、6万円弱でA4ノートのアウトレット(いわゆる型落ちの新品)が手に入る。

駅やホテルのLAN環境でのメールチェック、列車の中ではメモ作成か、お気に入りの音楽でリフレッシュ。
こういうライトな使い方なら、十分実用に耐える。
