松本清張の名作「夜光の階段」のドラマDVDです。
原作は昭和に書かれたものですが、
アレンジが上手く、時代設定が平成でも違和感がありません。

野望に燃えるスタイリストの男、道夫が
己が昇りつめる為に次々と起こす犯罪とその心の軌跡、
そして道夫にまつわる女達の物語です。

原作とは違い、道夫本人の心の軌跡を中心に描いているので
原作ファンからみれば印象が違うと思いますし、結末も大幅に変わっています。
ですが、これはこれで面白い作品だと思いました。
登り詰める為に女を利用していた道夫が、逆に女達に囚われてがんじがらめになっていく。
そして罪が罪を呼び、追い詰められていく道夫。

道夫の母と道夫の最後の…そして本当に愛した女のフジ子の最後の行動が印象的でした。
最後まで道夫を守ると言い続けた女にしてはあまりにも稚拙な偽装工作と結末。
もしかしたら、本当に最後まで道夫と共にいる為に―たとえ地獄でも―
無意識に仕掛けた罠だったのじゃないかと。
そして道夫も彼女に囚われたのだ、永久に。

最後の結末は少し尺が短かった(あと一話欲しかった！！)のですが、
とても深遠で切ないです。

原作（未読ですが）の面白さのおかげなのかそこそこ面白く、オンエアを最後まで一度も欠かすことなく見続けました。美しいことが最大にして唯一の取り柄の藤木某さんの相変わらずの大根ぶりも、脇をかためる余貴美子や夏川結衣、小林念侍、室井滋などの好演でしっかりカバーしていたのがよかったです。ただ終盤は、それまで女たちを踏み台としか扱ってこなかった主人公がフジ子の献身で本物の愛に目覚めていく、という変化の描写がキモなのでしょうに、
そのへんがうまく表現できていなかったので、法廷でですべてを告白するラストシーンもとってつけたようにしか感じられず、クライマックスなのに全然泣けませんでした。
　また「やっぱテレ朝ドラマだな〜」と苦笑してしまったのは、大御所俳優による時代がかった大仰なナレーションです。登場人物たちの胸のうちまでいちいち説明チックに語りまくるのにはあきれてしまいました。「そういうことは私らが演技で語ってるつもりなんだけどなあ・・」なんていう役者さんたちの文句が聞こえてきそうです(笑）。「お子ちゃまからお年寄りまで皆様がちゃあんとわかるように懇切丁寧に！」というのがテレ朝の方針なのかもしれませんが、
そういう余計なお世話をうっとうしく感じる客も少なからずいることにいい加減気づいてほしいと思います。
