アーティストについて

マット・ビアンコ、その一風変わったグループ名は、60年代のスパイ映画に出てきそうなキャラクターの名前をコンセプトにマーク・ライリーが名付けたという。1984年、イギリスでデビュー。’80年代前半、イギリスを席巻したムーブメント、ファンカ・ラ・ティーナの流れを汲むブルー・ロンド・ア・ラ・タークのメンバーが母体となり、マーク・ライリーを中心に、ダニー・ホワイト、そして女性ヴォーカル・ブームの先駆けとなったバーシアが在籍し、ファースト・アルバムのタイトル・チューンである“探偵物語/WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON”がワールド・ワイド・ヒット。一躍メジャー・シーンへ躍り出る。

ブランクを感じさせない、素晴らしいアルバムが完成しました。

タイトルチューンのHIFI BOSSANOVAは、本当にhi-fiって感じがします。

個人的感覚としてはbossa novaは余りにも高音質だと雰囲気に欠ける気がしますが、これはマットビアンコだからこそ、このタイトルを使っても違和感を感じさせませんね。
綿密に作り込まれた感がありますが、嫌みではありません。

Naturalでは、またバーシアが!?

と驚きましたが、違いました。

それ位ソックリです^^
探して来るの、上手すぎます^^


トータルしてアップテンポからバラード、ミドルまで全く捨て曲がない銘盤の完成です。


いつも思いますが、クレイジーケンバンドがお好きな方ならわかる世界かと思いますが…


事実、私の周囲ではクレイジーケンバンドが好きな方には好評ですよ^^

毎回ワールドワイドなミュージックを届けてくれるMatt Biancoの新作です。
二人のマークユニットが復活しました。
今度のテーマはボサノバ！！
心地よい風に吹かれているようなボサノバサウンド満載です。
タイトルチューンのHifi Bossanovaは、彼ららしい軽快でノリノリの新スタンダードですね。
コルコバードっぽいThe Way I Like ItやAngel Divineは、正しくボサノバしています。
また、ロスト・イン・ユーの新アレンジもおもしろい。
今作では、サマー・サンバでボーカルを担当していた、
ヘイゼル・シムが若々しい歌声を披露しています。
彼女は、かつてのバーシアを彷彿とさせ、これぞMatt Biancoを奏でています。
フルボーカルが聴けるNaturalは、聞き応えありますね。
そして、ビクターに移籍してからのサイケでポップなアルバムジャケが今作も健在です。
６０年代っぽいデザインで、わざとすすけた雰囲気をかもし出しています。
これからの季節にピッタリの好アルバムですよ！！
ちなみに、日本盤には、ボートラが２曲収録されています。
