スカスカのサウンドに、ざらざらのギター　宝石のような　甘いメロディー。　

　
ジャケットと、ブックレットは、素敵だし、2枚目の　ライブ音源も　かわいらしいので、以前出てた　ベストも、持っていたけど、ぼくは　買ってよかったと　感じました。

国内盤も出るようですが、　輸入盤は安い(内容は、素晴らしいのに)ので、いいと思います。

　

遊び心と、メロディーセンス、子供のような　無邪気さが　つまっています。　　彼らのとりこになったのは、カートだけじゃ　無いよ。

　サマーソニックで　彼らを見れるのが　信じられない！　　ティーンエイジもソニックユースも、一緒だよ。　カートが　羨ましがるんじゃないかな。

当方サブポップ盤「The Way of the Vaselines」を所有しています。
全てを詳細に比較したわけではありませんが感じた事を箇条書きで記載致します。
（リスニング環境は非力なミニコンポとヘッドフォンです。）

・リマスターに関しては結論から言うと際立った音質向上はないように思えます。
「よくなった」というよりは「若干印象が異なるようになった」といった方が正確かもしれません。

・中域〜高域が若干クリアになった気がしますが旧盤では聞こえなかったヒスノイズが
　聞こえるようになった箇所もあり一長一短といった感じです。
・以前の盤でガリノイズが乗っていた部分が修正されている。（M-1イントロなど）
・低域、音圧に関しては以前のCDのほうが出ているように感じられました。
・全体的には上記のように際立った違いはないのですが特定の曲に関しては
　スネアの音色にかなり変化を感じる事も。（M-13にて）

　、、といった感じでリマスター音源目的という事であれば「必須」というほどではないかな、、
というのが率直な感想です。

CD2に関して

・デモ（M-1〜3）とブリストルのライブ(M-4〜8)はカセットテープ音質、ブートレグ音質
　というかはっきり言って音は良くはなく資料的な意味合いが強いかなという印象です。
（聴けるだけありがたいとは思うのですが）
・ロンドンライブ（M-9〜17）は繰り返し聞く事が出来る音質でした。
　内容的にはライブらしい勢いのある演奏、また不安定なボーカル（笑）が堪能出来ます。

　以上ご参考までに、、


（蛇足ですがオリジナルアートワークを使用したペーパースリーブジャケットを
再現してプチボックス的な物作ってほしいなぁ、、）

ニルヴァナがカバーした曲はもちろん最高ですが、ほかの曲も素朴ながら素敵なメロディー満載で、当時は気づかなかったけど、今聞くと、ヴェルベット・アンダーグランドとかギャラクシー500なんかを感じます。また時折歌いまわしがシド・バレットぽいと思いました。これ分かる人は分かってくれますよね！！
今回の再発を機に、K、ティーンビート、マージなんかにいた、地味ながら良質なバンドも再評価されるといいなぁ。
とにかくこのCDは持ってて損は無いですよ！
