アーティストについて

大阪生まれ。現在20歳のシンガーソングライター。天性の声質を持ち、自ら作詞・作曲を手がける新世代アーティスト。
1988年 8月30日大阪生まれ。
1992年(4歳) Osaka International School入学。入学と同時にクラシックピアノを習い始める。
1996年(8歳) 『Sister Act 2(天使にラブソングを 2)』を観て衝撃を受け、ゴスペルを習い始める。
2002年(14歳) 歌のレッスンを本格的に開始。
2003年(15歳) 夏、バークレー音楽院の5週間サマープログラム(5 Weeks Summer Performance Program)に参加し、国際的な環境の中、色々な音楽家と接し多くの影響を受け、“音楽”と“歌うこと”への興味がさらに強くなり、自ら作詞・作曲を始める。
2006年(18歳) 9月に生まれ育った大阪を離れ、早稲田大学に入学。
12月13日、シングル「Possession / My All For You」でデビュー。
「ベストヒット歌謡祭 2007」新人アーティスト賞、「第49回 日本レコード大賞」新人賞を受賞。

今まではJYONGRIというとどうしても
「Possession」「Kissing Me」のような情念的で美しい展開をみせるアッパーな
楽曲のような路線が一番似合うのでは？と思ってました。
「Unchanging Love」などのバラードに良さを感じつつも、やや物足りなさや地味な
印象を受けてしまっていたからです。
しかし、今作を聴いて少し考えが改まりました。

「Maybe Someday〜」というサビの伸びが非常に美しく、
日本語ながらそれを感じさせない宇多田のような歌唱もマッチング。
軽くてラフな感じなのに、何故だか妙に涙を誘う。
JYONGRIのバラードものでは最高傑作では？とすら思えます。


1000円という安価ながら3曲収録も魅力ですね。
カップリングの2曲もお得意の洋R&B風の楽曲で良いです。

すべてCM曲でもあり、着うたが先行配信されているので、サビ以外の出来がとても気になりました。でも、買って聴くと、サビ以外もよく作られていたので、安心しました。

各CMなどで断片を聴くかぎり、なぜ「First Kiss」をメインにしないのかが不思議だったんですよ。でも、実際にフルで3曲とも聴くと、やはりこの曲順でいいかな、と。
トラック１は、バラード。栄養ドリンクのCMソングなので、「リセット」ということばも入っていて「また会えたらいいね」というサビのことばも、栄養ドリンクを飲んで一晩寝たら、程度の意味合いだと思っていました。でも、本当は、むしろ連絡先も知らずに別れて二度と会えない可能性のほうがはるかに高い青春の別れが名残り惜しくて、「また会えたらいいね」と連呼しているんですね。本当に「今は涙が止まらないけれど、またどこかで会えたらいいね、きっとどこかで会えたらいいね」という感じで、感動。
トラック２は、R＆Bというかドラムンベースというか。JYONGRIのヴォーカルのグルーヴというか、ヴァイブレーションというかを味わうための曲ですね。
トラック３は、四つ打ちのR＆B？さわやかですね。一番の「こども」のところで、日本語の単語のまとまりを気にせず、ヴァイブレーションで「こど」と「も」とのあいだでブレスを入れるのが、宇多田ヒカルと同じで、バイリンガル風の歌唱法で、かっこいいですね。
