NIRGILIS、3年振りとなるニューアルバム「RGB」。

シングルが5枚入っている訳だがどの曲もタイプが違い、そしてとても入りやすい楽曲達である。
シンセサイザーの音が心地よいバラード風味のポップチューン「SNOW KISS」や
神秘的なメロディ、しかし身近にも感じられる春らしい「アップデート」、
突き抜けるような歌声とメロディが全力で響き渡る「Brand New Day」、
重厚なビートとポップなサビとの融合が美しい「kiseki」、
そしてミニアルバムに収録されていたセクシーなアップチューン「チックチックチック」と
数々のキラーチューンがこれだけ入っていて、
かつバランスを考えた配置で聴かせるので悪いはずがない。

それはアルバム曲も同じ。
シングルの流れを引き継いだ「恋のレジスタンス」「kill the star」、
トランペットを駆使した「Rainy Day」、ミドルテンポの恋愛ソング「SAY」などは近年のJ-POPをNIRGILISなりに料理した間口の広い楽曲。
かと思えば今までのアルバムにも通じるガチャガチャした格好いいサウンドを披露している「BROKEN PIECE」などバランスも考えている。
シングルで惹かれたリスナーの期待を裏切らない会心の仕上がりになったと思う。
（その分、ロック色は薄れたけど。ギターも奥に引っ込んでいる感じ。）

個人的な印象としては「希望」を感じさせるアルバムだと思った。
まばゆく光る様なサウンドと、強引に聴き手をグイグイ引っ張っていく歌詞と岩田アッチュの高音のボーカル。
近未来を感じさせる音楽性ということもあって、一歩先に踏み出してみたくなるような。
一曲目の「Brand New Day」からして希望の歌そのものである。 伝わって欲しい。

エウレカで「ニルギリスって凄いな！」と感動し、それから数年経過したまたま夜中にＴＶを時計代わりに点けてたらアニメのオープニングに聴きなれたあの声が！
もしやと思ったらニルギリスのkisekiだった！　で、kisekiもしっかり収録されたこのアルバムを買いました。いやぁいいですね。全部の曲好きです。僕はアッチュさんの声が大好きなんですよ。　チックチックチックいいですね。Brand New Day も好きです。
最近の日本の音楽シーンでとても気になるバンドですね。
