2008年7月25日『FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'08』に3年ぶりに出演。FIELD OF HEAVENのヘッドライナーとして出演し5000名を魅了する。
今夏ではPerfumeやサンボマスター、STRAIGHTENERと競演。更にはSPITZ presents『ロックロックこんにちは』に出演を果たし、
9月にはThe Birthday&中村達也presents『WEEKEND LOVERS』、そして2009年1月には9mm Parabellum Bulletの九州ツアー
に参加するなど、異ジャンルでの活躍とミュージシャンからの絶大な支持を得ている所もこのバンドの魅力の一つでもある。

約1年2ヶ月ぶりの本作はまさに「最高傑作!」

とてもシンプルで風通しのいいアルバムである。
インスト・ロックバンドSPECIAL OTHERS、3枚目のアルバムとなる「PB」。

メジャー移籍後、「Good Morning」「QUEST」に代表されるように
どちらかというとよりポップなものを表現してきたというか
開かれた表現を敢えてして来たと感じている。
　そしてその表現が最大限に活かされた前作「QUEST」では数々のキラーチューンを生み出して
ある意味代表作とも言える作品に仕上がっていたと思う。

このアルバム「PB」はそれら2枚とは若干方向性が違う。
わかりやすい、派手さを前面に押し出した曲「AIMS」「Night Paradise」のような曲は極力少なくて、
むしろその豊かな演奏力を活かしてSPECIAL OTHERS本来のジャム・セッションを
伸び伸びと鳴らしているような、そういう楽曲が殆どを占めているように思う。

ロック色に関しては今まで一番低いと思うが（バンドのせめぎ合いが激しい「Potato」は除いて）、
逆に言うとこれまでの3作の中では一番軽快で、
何より涼しさを感じるアルバムである。
夏に出しても良かったのでは？と思うくらい。いい意味で自由な演奏が延々と気持ちよく鳴っています。
ギターの音色も、リズム隊もキーボードも不思議な一体感があり、バンド本来の楽しさが詰まっているような。

特に頭から3曲目までのマニアックでコアな演奏、テクニックを披露しつつもポップに聴こえる
SPECIAL OTHERSならではの爽快なサウンドは聴き手の風景を変えてくれる力を持っていると思う。
派手さは足りないけど、これはこれで好きです。傑作。

４人が鳴らす自由な音が実に心地よく絡み合っていて、とても気持ちいい。夏の野外フェスの音のような、カラッとした明るさと高揚感がたまりません。マックの「あの音」が印象的なトラック７「Potato」も通りつつ、フォークロアっぽいトラック１０「sunrise」で大団円を迎える頃には、実にほっこりとした幸福感に包まれること必至。これ、いいです。

こいつらの世界にどっぷり入り込んでしまった
心地よいすばらしい作品だ
これだからインストバンドはいいんだよインストだよ
キシリトールじゃないよ
