葉鳥ビスコさん原作の人気コミック『桜蘭高校ホスト部』(『LaLa』連載 白泉社刊)のゲーム版がPS2に引き続きDSでも楽しめる! プレイヤーは、主人公の藤岡ハルヒとなり、不注意で作った借金を返済するためにホスト部でホストとして行動することになる。シナリオは行動選択によって分岐するマルチストーリーで、エンディングも複数用意されている。1日の終わりには"ホスト部指名率成績表"で指名率の変化や借金の残額などを確認できる。PS2版では、ボイスがないキャラクターも存在したが、DS版ではついにフルボイス化を実現。さらに、メインキャラクター6人のボーナスシナリオが追加されたほか、新規イベントCGも追加されている。

PS2版は未購入でプレイ。
１話あたり１時間〜２時間の短編集、DSでの追加シナリオはさらに短く２０分程度。
既読文章をスキップしながら複数周して全キャラ回ると３０時間程度では。

ありきたりになりますが、感想を短くまとめるなら
「DSキャラゲーとしては十二分の出来、PS2版を持っていないファンなら」

ファン向け作品であるため斬新さや意外性は少ないですが、
特別なイベントが無い時のホスト部通常営業、他ホストクラブとの競争
など原作やアニメであまり見られなかった要素があり、なかなか楽しむことができました。

音声の質は低いですが、フルボイスでの掛け合いは聞いていて楽しいです。
ヘッドホンを使うと声の粗さが気になりますが、スピーカーから聞けば特に問題は。

絵は質も数もPS2版のレビューにあった通り上々。
OPアニメをはじめアニメ版の動画がかなり収録されているのは驚きです。

ゲーム内での自由度が低い点、「既読文章のみスキップ」の機能がない点は
複数周する際には少々難点になるかもしれません。

アニメの終了からかなり時間が経っての発売ですが、
おかげで薄れかけていた「ホスト部」の記憶がまた鮮やかに。
ゲームの続編、アニメの続編などがあれば尚嬉しいのですが。

これはDSを媒体にした新刊本（移植版ですから、前作を知る方には再版本）なのです。
下手に恋愛ゲームだと思うから、肩すかしを喰らうのだと思います。
声つきの動く絵本なのです。
原作読んでいて、『この時○○に話しかけていたらどうなったの？』に、ちょっと応えてくれたってカンジ。

TVアニメも見ていない完全コミック派の私には、カットインされたアニメも新鮮だったし、選択肢が２，３０分間全く無くて、退屈でついうとうとと眠くなっても、新たに追加されたタッチ機能にときメ○ほどの意味がない（あるのかな？）としても、それも味の一つとして、楽しむことができました。
ロードストレスも、フリーズもなく、さくさく４時間ほどで一周終了できましたよ。
強制スキップシステムが快適だから、スチル収集もきっと早く終わるでしょう。

評価は☆４つ。
星を削ったのはエンディングを飛ばせなかったのと、キャラボイスにどーしても違和感残ったから。
ま、定価で購入ならもっと文句があったでしょうが、この値段ならOKかな。

PS2版をしてなくて、これが初プレイというのならいいのかもしれませんが、やはりPS2版同様、何度も繰り返しプレイする気にはなれない、同キャラ2週目は苦痛なゲームです。
どんな選択肢を選んでも物語の展開やEDがガラッと変わるわけでもないし、ひたすらだらだら話が進んで行く感じです。
やり込み甲斐は、ほとんどありません。（っていうか、ないかも）

ただし、脇キャラも含めてフルボイスなのと、オマケストーリーが追加されていた（しかも、本編をクリアしてなくとも、いきなり出来るｗ）ので、買うのならこちらDS版がお薦めです。

オマケストーリーにあるリアルリンクシステムですが、DSならではと付けたのかもしれませんが、私にはイマイチ。
単に選択肢を三択くらいにしてくれた方が良かったです。

ちなみに、あまり恋愛ゲームな展開を期待するとがっかりするかも。
ご存じのように、ヒロインはハルヒですから（笑）ラブラブな展開は無理でしょうｗ
