アーティストについて

清 竜人
(きよし りゅうじん)

1989年5月27日生まれ。大阪府出身。
15歳が終わろうとしていた春、彼は親戚の叔母さんがゴミ捨て場から拾ってきたギターを貰い、オリジナル曲を作り始める。
16歳の夏、対バン相手から「自主制作音源はないんですか?」と訊かれ、自主制作でCDが作れることを初めて知る。バイトで稼いだ7万円で制作した音源は、後にたくさんの業界関係者の耳に留まり、彼の人生を変えていくことになる。
17歳の夏、全国高校生バンド選手権「TEENS ROCK IN HITACHINAKA 2006」に出場し、見事グランプリを受賞、副賞として同年のROCK IN JAPAN FESへの出場を果たす。
18歳の誕生日の2日前、初めて東京でライブを行う。噂を聞きつけた20社以上の音楽関係者が詰めかけ、彼をめぐっての争奪戦が白熱する。
18歳の冬、高校を自主退学。音楽家として生きていくことを決意する。
ほどなくして映画「僕の彼女はサイボーグ」への挿入歌の依頼が舞い込む。彼のデモテープを聴いたクァク・ジョヨン監督(「猟奇的な彼女」)自身からの異例とも言えるオファーであった。
19歳の誕生日を迎えてすぐ、本格的なレコーディングを開始。
そして10代最後の春、デビュー。
いよいよ彼の音楽が響き始める。

一聴すると、日本語じゃないようにも聴こえる曲もあるが歌詞を見るとほとんどの曲はちゃんと日本語で歌っている。詞の内容も組み立て方もまた独特で、抽象的なものからストレートなメッセージにひねくれたラブソングまでが並ぶ。英語詞に興味がないのでその辺には少し不満もあるが、それを抜きにしても、これはかなり完成度の高いタイムレスメロディなソングアルバムだ。

ファンクにメロが跳ねまわるものから、フォーキーにアルペジオを奏るかと思えばジャジーで、ちょっと聴いたことのないような歌メロがあって、日本人離れした拍の取り方をしたりする。なのに耳に届くのは紛れもないポップソングと美メロ。そしてメランコリー。個性的なやわらかいボーカルと歌唱法、とろけるような高音もクセになる。サウンドはタイト。

「あなたにだけは」「違う」「風もバラも雪もぼくも」の切実さには胸がえぐられるようだ。個人的には、音楽性は違えど七尾旅人が『オモヒデ オーヴァ ドライヴ 』でひっそりと現れたときと、同種の衝撃が走った。にわかにはちょっと信じられないような、素晴らしい才能が生み出だした、はじまりのアルバム。

独特の歌声にヤラレました…
少し高くてスモーキーな声は日本人ばなれしていてとても心地よいです。
au Smart SportsのCMソングでおなじみのMorning Sunはα波がでているんじゃないか？と思うほど。
英語の歌詞が多いのかな？と思いきや、Morning SunとSelfishの他はほぼ日本語。しかし独特な歌いマワシと歌詞は聞いただけでは理解しにくいかも。
アルバムはセリーヌ・デュオンなどのプロデューサーで知られるトム・キーンさんが参加しています（私はよくわからないけど…）。半分くらいアップテンポの曲ですが、軽い感じで聞きやすいです。
時間は33分強と短めですが、お値段が安いのとポイントにつられて即買いしてしまいました〜。
ちなみにカウントダウンTVで「ジョン・L・フライの嘘」のPVが流れています。

日本から世界に出せる天才

19才でこの音の雰囲気を出すのは、絶対無理。

プロデューサーには本人含め３人の名前がクレジットされているが、本当に素晴らしい音を聴かせてくれている。
ギターの弦の音がこれだけクリアに聞くことができるのはそうはないんじゃないかと思う。
また、７曲目の　悲システム　でドラムをプレイしている、toe　というバンドの柏倉隆史氏、
全く存じ上げていなかったが、彼のドラミングは最高。
