将棋の基本的なルールが学べるモードがありまったくの初心者でもプレイできます。
しかし、本当にルールだけでテクニックなどを教えてくれる訳ではなく、ルールを習ったら延々と詰め将棋をやることになります。
しかも間違うと答えを表示せず次の問題に行ってしまうのでなぜ間違えたか分かりません。

そして、このゲームの一番の目的であろう決断力を調べるテストは詰め将棋、逃げ将棋などの五種類から二つが出題されますが自分の得意なものによってかなり数値が違い、当てにならなそうです。

将棋が上達したい人には向いていないと思いますが、脳トレと考えれば無くはないかと思います。
