上々颱風「土民の唄」なんともなタイトルである。土民と言えば差別語ではないかと考える者もいるだろう。しかし土民という言葉は差別語ではない。土着住民と言う意味である。わが国でいえば半島からやってきて日本人と称して先住民を駆逐して今の日本を創った渡来系の弥生人のことではない。本来ならそれらを「渡来系、弥生」と差別するべきであるのに後から来た彼らは先住民を差別したばかりでなく、ある程度時間が経ってから日本に入ってきた自分たちの仲間も差別した。

弥生人の渡来以前から日本に住んでいた縄文人の蝦夷（えみし）、土蜘蛛、隼人、熊襲などが日本の土民である。北海道はアイヌ、沖縄は大陸からの渡来民族国家琉球王国であり、もともと日本ではない。

上々颱風の“土民”は、要は後から来たくせに「その国の人」だと言い張っているモノに対するあてつけと、アジアはみな同じ、もっと大きく見れば人間はみな同じなのだと主張しているように思われる。

ま、そんなことはどうでもいい。上々颱風の作る音楽は、基盤であるアジアを主体としながらも白色人種に有色人種など民族を越えた“みんなで楽しもうぜ”的お祭り音楽なのである。いつも同じような曲じゃないか・・・って？　それでいいのである。音階や音楽手法なんて限界がある。誰がつくっても結局は同じような曲になるのである。サザンなんてお金持ちが片手間で作ったようないつまでも同じような曲をありがたがって聞いているよりは遥かに音楽を楽しむ行為として正解なのだと思う。

猪野陽子さん作詞作曲による「夜明け」から始まるこのアルバムはなかなか聞きごたえがあってよろしい。まさに夜明けの雰囲気を醸し出すこの曲の後はテーマ曲「土民の唄Ｐａｒt.1」である。Ｐａｒt.1なのでキンクリの「太陽の戦慄」同様に（なんでキンクリと比較しちゃうんだろう？思いついただけだ）２も３もきっとあるのだろう。楽しみである。モスラやキングコング対ゴジラやを製作するときにはぜひ彼らの曲を使っていただきたく思うのである。

先日のおおたかの森ライブではアルバムから「夜明け」「土民の唄」「恋で地球は回ってる」「今日はあんたのめでで日（今日は兄ちゃんのおめでたい日）」などが歌われた。大サービスである。メンバーの過激ＭＣである白崎映美さんの乱暴もなかなか面白かった。

　待ちに待った上々颱風のアルバムです。
　私が，気に入ったのは，Jumpin’ Jack Flashです。
　上々らしいアレンジで，とても楽しめました。
　Let it be と並ぶ名アレンジだと思いました。
