協会の機関誌であるだけに外国人叩きは少しは控えめで悪くはないと思っていたのですが、今号の巡業の記事には呆れました。朝青龍が巡業の稽古を風邪で休んだ、という記事に、飲み過ぎて起きられなかったのだろう、と憶測しています。本人が風邪と主張しているのに、飲み過ぎてさぼった、と言い切れるだけの根拠はライターだけでなく、編集者も持っていたのでしょうか？根拠がないとすれば、名誉毀損に当たる記事だと思います。普通の会社に、例えばベースボールマガジン社でも良いですが、当てはめるとすると、風邪で体調が悪くて会社を休んだら、会社の広報誌に「飲み過ぎて起きられなかった」と書かれる様なものだ、と書けば、どれくらいおかしなことか想像がつくでしょう。ただでさえ録画機器の普及で相撲雑誌の存在意義は低下している今、こんな記事ばかり書いていると年来の読者を失いますよ。
