９０１XのDドライブは標準であるがCドライブは４Gと本当に容量がなく気になって毎回残り容量を確認していましたが、今回１６Gのドライブに換装しいたことですごく気が楽になりました。換装には手間をとりましたが、今は快適に使用しています。スピードも気になることなくネットサーフィンをしています。換装する前にハードディスクのアクセスランプをの点滅を犠牲にしてそのまま装着しようと思っていましたが、昔熱中したアマチュア無線の経験をいかして半田ごてを片手にそして老眼のため、拡大鏡で基盤を見て短絡させました。
結構換装に手間をとりましたが今の快適さはやってよかったと思います。

どっかで見覚えのある形です。ASUS Eee PC 901-x 分解した方は判ると思いますが...例の4Gの奴を一気に16Gまで換装可能です。(最も自己責任ですが。)こっちは低価格なので、当方では実験用として購入し、実装。無事認識し、今のところ満足しています。

dell mini9 への使用した際は、まぁ、速度はそのままで、容量を気にせず使え、それはそれでgoodだと思います。


September-2009 追伸...
Eee 901-x 転用記です。Fedora 11 をインストールする際に、D ドライブ(BUFFALO 32 G)と C ドライブ(本商品)をLVM 構成する(通常インストールで、全ディスク自動構成を行う)と、Windowsを凌駕するスピードで動作！MLCのプチフリという欠点を克服しました！

某所でやるなと言われてたNTFSでベンチ取ってみた。

実際使ってみての感想。
・起動は速くなった。フォルダの開け閉めも快速。
・非連続の書き込みがベンチの数字以上に遅く、例えばブラウザでの画像保存で
　たくさんある画像を手で一枚ずつ保存していくという方法だと、
　フォルダが起こるまで待たされる。
・容量を気にしないで良いのは気が楽。4GBだとOSアップデートと復元ポイントだけで
　埋まるんじゃないかな。

読み込みは劇的に速くなりますが、書き込みが元の環境より劣るので対策が必要です。
ほんと、わかる人にだけですよこれは。
