付属のソフトでは、使い難く出来ない事が多いのですが
他社製のツールを使う事で様々なファイルからエンコードや
トランスコーディングが可能になり
ハードウェアコーデックの速度が生きるようになりました。

Core2Duo 2.66 RAM4GBなんですがHDの圧縮で4倍ほど高速でした。

フィルター系ソフトと連携して自動でトランスコーディングできるように
出来れば、地デジの再圧縮も使える。

評価が変わったので、一度削除して書き直しです。

Core 2 Duo E6550(2.33GHz) 32bit Vista 2Gメモリで、
USB外付けHDD内のMPEG-2ファイルをH.264/MPEG-4 AVCに変換しようとすると
フリーズしたかのようで使えなかったのですが、

本製品 ＋
Core 2 Duo E6550(2.33GHz) 32bit Vista 4Gメモリ ＋ eSATAの外付けHDD ＋
TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress ＋ SpursEngine用プラグイン ＋ GeForce 9400 GT(CUDA)
の構成で実時間よりも短い時間でエンコードできます。

ロープロファイル対応ですが、別途電源(FD用)が必要のようです。
（無くても動作するらしい？）

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPressでは、H264変換にCUDAを使用しないようなので、
TMPGEnc 4.0 XPressの設定でエンコードでCUDAを有効にすると返って遅くなります。
CUDAは、MPEG2への変換時にフィルター処理だけにした方が良さそうです。

付属ソフトに関しては他のレビューにもある通り、いまいちです。

ただ、SpursEngine搭載カードの中では最も安いので、エンコード
ソフトに関してはTMPGEnc 4.0 XPressを使うということが前提で
あれば非常にお勧めです。

TMPGEnc 4.0 XPressに別途「SpursEngine用プラグイン」を購入
する必要があります。

Core2Duo E6850(3Ghz)、メモリ2Gの環境で、フルHD(1920x1080)の
mpeg2動画を1280x720のmpeg4に変換するのにかかる時間ですが、
これまで実時間の２倍近く掛かっていた処理が、このカードを利用
した場合実時間の2/3位で処理が完了しました。
iPod用動画程度のサイズに変換する際には、実時間の半分程度で
終了してしまいました。

Corei7にCPUを変えないと早くならないかと思っていましたが、こちら
のカードを使ったほうがコスト的にも、パフォーマンス的にもよさそう
です。
