砲撃に晒され、紙くずが舞い散り、崩壊していく茶けたベルリンの街を進撃するロシア兵、
真っ青な空の下、炎上する首里城　突然飛び出して襲い来る日本兵をかわし続ける米兵、
しばしゲームを忘れてその光景に見惚れた。
陥落させた米兵の顔にも笑顔は無い。
戦死した仲間の認識票を毟り取り仲間に手渡す米兵。リアル。
ナイフで刺し倒すなどの表現があり、日本版は発売は無理でしょう。
そんな訳で、輸入版入手して良かった。
このゲームの前に遊んだ＜バイオハザード５＞の出来が酷すぎて落ち込んでいただけに、
この面白さは格別でした。好き嫌いの有る所と思うが、ＧＯＷ２より面白かった。
今年プレイしたゲームの中ではDead Spaceと並んで、私にとっては５☆です。

日本軍が敵という事で少し抵抗がありましたが、実際プレイしてみると、
いかにも極悪非道な感じで描かれているナチスとは違い、
あくまでも「強敵」として日本軍が描かれていた様に思えましたので、
そこまで気になりませんでした。

ペリリュー島や沖縄などの激戦地で疲弊、消耗していく海兵隊達や、
ジャングルに潜伏し姿も見えない日本軍。神風攻撃で沈んで行く軍艦等、
米軍が味わった狂気や恐怖もしっかりと表現されていたのも良いと思います。

ゲームとしてはとてもよい出来なのですが、名だたる激戦地であった
硫黄島とシュガーローフが無かったのが個人的に不満でしたので減点1とさせてもらいました。

部位欠損や火炎放射器による焼死など、戦争ゲームの中でも過激な部類に入ります。
特に、「熱いぃ、熱いぃ」など断末魔が凄まじいです。

ただ、こういった表現をぼかさないことで、
逆に戦争の凄惨さや戦場の異常な雰囲気を伝えていると思います。
サバイバルゲーム感覚でプレイできるほかの戦争ゲームとは一線を画します。
戦争ゲーム＝爽快＆楽しいと思っている人にこそ遊んで欲しい作品ですね。
戦争とはどういったことなのかを考え直すきっかけになると思います。

以下、残念な点と良い点。

【残念な点】
・狙撃ミッションの難易度が異様に高すぎる
・バグの発生からかゲームの進行が止まる（塹壕ステージで塹壕を制覇するも先に進まず）
・ステージが少ない（途中経過がなく一気に終戦へ）
・当時の歴史映像をもっと組み込んで欲しかった
・エンディングが日本人にとっては…

【良い点】
・四肢の飛散など戦場の狂気が感じられる
・壕内部のポスターなどが再現されておりオブジェクトもリアル
・ドイツ兵と日本兵でAIに差別化が図られている
・COD3に比べて理不尽さを感じなくなった
・沖縄戦の迫力（海戦および陸戦）が凄い

ゲームとして楽しいかと言われると微妙（グロイし気分も重くなる）ですが、
日本が辿ってきた戦争を知るという意味でも、やる価値はありだと思います。
