オリジナル版を購入当時(93年)は、正直なところ、「なんでMedicine（薬、医療）なの？」と思っていました。気がつくと15年以上も、付かず離れず折に触れて聴いてきました。特に体調が思わしくないときに聴きたくなり、聴くと癒されて軽い頭痛や倦怠感がなくなることに気づきました。内容はとても深淵で、他に類似の音楽は見あたらず、アンビエントとも一言では言えません。心の奥の普段は触れていない深いところまで届き、そこで潜在意識に働きかけて精神を整える効果があるようです。良くある音楽療法のCDのような、軽いリラックスを促すようなふわふわした音楽ではなく、ジャケットが示すようなある種の暗さを秘めた作品です。細野晴臣氏は、日本が世界に誇る音楽家です。100年後にもバッハなどと並んで未来永劫残って行く音楽だと思います。

オリジナルの音質が良いので悩みましたが、お気に入りなので購入し、音質を聞き比べてみました。
比較はESCB 1302（オリジナルリリース盤）です。

音質は若干クリアに、そして低音のゲイン（M1が顕著）が上がっていましたが、他の細野さん監修リマスター盤と比較すると、劇的な変化ではありません。
オリジナルリリースの時点で、すでに細野さん好みの音になっていたのでしょう。
購入の優先順位としては、下げて良いと思いますので、先に80年代のアルバムのリマスター盤を買っておきましょう。
