環境音楽ではなく、細野晴臣による「観光」音楽
ということでomni Sight Seeingという題名を冠したとのこと。

ワールドミュージックや民謡のCDはこの作品が出た頃から随分リリースされてきたが、
録音その他の面のまずさから魅力の無い盤も多く、結局一過性のブームに終わった印象がある。
この作品は純粋なワールドミュージックというよりは細野さんのフィルターを通した、シンセあり環境音ありの何で来いな独特の音なのだが
現地録音の民族音楽にも負けない、異なる世界の空気が見事にとらえられていると思う。
8.Korendorを聴くと幼少時代をすごした夜の田園風景が目に浮かぶ。
空間だけでなく、時間の経過も感じられるような名盤。

アレンジは凝っているように思うが、各楽器の響きもとても大事に録音されていて、リズムマシンのシンプルな打ち込みに至るまで魅力的。

個人的に、当時買ったCDは既にボロボロの状態だったので
クラウンイヤーズのBOXなどに続く本人監修の評判の良いリマスターで買いなおせる事は嬉しい。

このアルバムを好きになった人は、SandiiのアルバムMERCYの9曲目、細野さん作曲の"Water 4 A Barren Heart"を聴いてみてください。この曲は本来omni Sight Seeingに入っているべきではないかと思います。

　細野さんの最高傑作と言ってもいいでしょう。３曲目の「Orgon Box」の歌詞では、バブル批判ともとれる部分が見受けられます。８９年の時点で、バブルを批判した日本の音楽は、たぶんないでしょう。
　体調のいいときに聴いたら、アルバムを通して火の鳥が舞っているかのような印象を受けました。また、１曲目の「Esashi」によって、わたしは日本の民謡に目を開かされました。
　リマスタリングによって、音の厚みが増し、分離もよくなっています。
