　今回のアルバムは歌詞カードが複雑な折り方になっていて、広げて歌詞が書かれてない方を上にすると夕暮れ時の南国の海と椰子の木をバックにしたアリカ様の写真になっているという凝り方ですが、収録曲の方もこれに劣らない凝り方です。
　ベストアルバムですからほとんどが既に発売されたCDからの曲ですけど、「わが臈たし悪の華」「勇侠青春謳」「亡國覚醒カタルシス」といったアニメのオープニング曲やエンディング曲として人気を博した曲だけでなくそのシングルでのカップリング曲「（あら）皮」「鎮魂頌」「水月鏡花」、「KING KNIGHT」「白堊病棟」「GOD DIVA」「少女殉血」といった、アニメのサウンドトラックに収録された挿入歌で人気のあった曲という具合に、隠れた名曲に光を当てるというコンセプトになっているようです。
　それからこのアルバムのタイトルにもなっているオリジナル曲「桂冠詩人」ですが、こちらはタイトルのイメージからも想像できるスローテンポの、ファン的に言えば白アリの曲です。歌詞をチェックしてみると、「海」「帆船」といった単語が入ってまして、何で冬の発売なのにジャケットがタイトルのイメージからも連想できない南国の海のイメージなのか不思議でしたがこれで納得しました。
　あと最後の「鬼帝の剣」オーケストラバージョンは、オリジナルよりも更に勇壮に編曲されてます。他の曲と同様に、こちらも聴く価値有りです。
　それからこちらの初回限定版にはDVDが付いてまして、「勇侠青春謳」「わが臈たし悪の華」「鬼帝の剣」のプロモーション映像と、「わが臈たし悪の華」「鬼帝の剣」のNHKホールのライブ映像が収録されています。プロモーション映像については既に他の記事やブログなどで紹介されてますから省略するとしまして、ライブ映像は来年発売が予定されている禁書発禁DVDに先だっての公開とあって期待してましたが、ライブに行った時のことを思い出しながら楽しく見ることができました。ただ惜しむらくは、バックダンサーのドラッグクイーンの4人が照明の関係でよく見えなかったことですね。まあ、これは主役がアリプロである以上仕方がないと言えばないんですけどね。

内容のついては他の方に任せて、今回は初回限定盤のパッケージについて。

前回ビクターから発売されたベスト盤COLLECTION SIMPLE PLUS (限定盤)(DVD付)では、
CDはデジパックに、特典のDVDはプラスチックのケースに別々に収納されており、
若干扱いにくいものでした。

しかし今回のベストの初回盤では、一つのケース（デジパック仕様）に
CDとDVDが収納されているため、取り回しが格段に良くなっています。

ジャケットや歌詞カードも凝った作りになっているため
ついつい見入ってしまいます。（アリカ氏はやはりお美しいですね）
収録曲、装丁ともに満足のいくアルバムです。

桂冠詩人の発売を今か今かと待ってました!これはもう満足の★★★★★です。初回特典についているDVDはPVとNHKホールでのLIVE映像といったぎっしりと詰め込んであるものです。
CDの方は人気アニメの主題歌もたくさん入っていてALIPROJECTが好きな方は是非ともお買い上げをオススメいたします!
