「アンインストール」「ミスリード」「美しければそれでいい」「1/2（はんぶん）」…
彼女の魅力は一体何なのか言葉にするのは難しいですが、敢えて言うのなら
美しさと神々しさを放つ楽曲
重厚なコーラスと、響きわたる繊細な歌唱
どこか哲学的な要素も孕む普遍的な歌詞でしょうか…

そして、約１年ぶりとなる今回のSingleなのですが、
前述の彼女の魅力はさらに増すように健在し、
その調和はまさに圧巻としか言いようがありません
一聴して耳に強烈な印象を与えるインパクトもありながら、
聴き込むほどに染みこんでくる良さを、今回の「Prototype」からも感じ取れます

加えて、カップリング「squall」にも抜かりはなく、
メロではまさに嵐の前の静けさを感じさせながら、サビでは一気に躍動する

どちらの曲も感動的…と言っても差し支えない程と思います

次のアルバムにもますます期待です

自分は普段洋楽ばかり聴いている人間なのだが、この曲は今一番気に入ってる曲で、既に先行視聴PVからリッピングした音源をiPodに取り込んで数百回聴いている。で、毎回「なんていい曲なんだ」と感動する。

自分的にフェイバリットな海外のバンド、ペット・ショップ・ボーイズやニュー・オーダーの音楽に全く引けを取っていない。始めから最後までひたすら泣きのメロディが続くが暗くはないし、聴き手を落ち込ませる旋律ではない。むしろひたすらリリカルで凛とした美しさ、「浄化」をイメージさせる透明感が印象に残る。「こんな曲を書ける人が日本にいたのか」と、正直驚嘆している。

「機動戦士ガンダム00」という作品の世界観、その独特のやるせなさ、特にセカンドシーズンの持つ「一度完全に失われた自らの生を取り戻すためにもう一度戦う」というテーマを見事に体現している楽曲だと思う。「人の生は、本来もっと輝きに満ちたものであるはずなのに」という全うなresentment。「世界に対する異議申し立て」というと大袈裟だが、隅っこに追いやられた人間が自分の拠って立つ基盤を必死に守ろうとするための戦いに捧げられた挽歌、であるかのようだ。

メロディとアレンジ、ボーカルとバックの演奏が絶妙な緊張感を伴ってせめぎ合っている感じ、この感じはなかなか狙って出せるものではないと思うが、ちょっと音楽の神様が降りてきたんじゃないかというくらい、ここでは一つ一つのパーツがうまく有機的に絡み合って素晴らしい効果を上げている。その結果、「石川智晶」という歌い手およびコンポーザーの殻を破る、またアニメソングやJ-POPといった枠組みを軽く越えて普遍的な輝きを獲得することに成功していると思う。

「ガンダム」やアニメに興味のない人、石川智晶という歌手を知らない人、普段洋楽ばかり聴いていて邦楽に興味のない人にも是非聴かせたい、そして「音楽」が本来持つ人の心を揺さぶる力の大きさを感じ取って欲しい…そんな気持ちにさせられる楽曲でした。こんな出会い、十年に一回もあるものじゃない。本当に、感謝。感謝。

石川智晶さんは、ここ最近のシンガーでは見ることのできない、
かなり独特の世界観を放っているシンガーさんだと思います。
だけどその世界は、みんなでわいわいと共感する、というより
孤高の世界の真ん中でただひとり光を放つような、
近寄りがたさがある音楽だと思うのですが、
こうして聴いてみますと、若者たちの間で揺れ動くガンダムの世界と
そんな不安定で近寄りがたい石川さんの世界とが、
その一端で共有しているような印象を受けました。
タイアップ曲だからあたりまえといえばあたりまえなのですが（笑）、
石川さんの曲に人智を超えた印象を持っていたのでちょっと意外でした。
同時収録のc/w「squall」も、孤独な物悲しさが漂う秀曲。
ちょっと昔なじみの歌謡曲ぽさを感じるフレーズなど、もはや、
彼女のサウンドテイストのひとつと言えるかもしれません。
