アーティストについて

2002年、幼稚園からの幼なじみである山村隆太(Vo.)、阪井一生(Gt.)、尼川元気(Ba.)の3人でアコギ・ユニットを結成する。3年間の活動を経て、ドラムの必要性を感じ 、知人の紹介で小倉誠司(Dr.)と出会い、2007年1月“flumpool”を結成。そして2008年7月、活動の場を東京に移す。 同年、自主販売CD「ミライカナイ」に収録されている「labo」のミュージックビデオがインディーズの登竜門、indiesmusic.comにて週間PVアクセスランキング歴代1位を記録! さらにはTBS系テレビ全国ネット「CDTV」の8月度エンディングテーマに起用、そして2008年8月27日に全国のタワーレコード・TSUTAYA限定でトライアルシングル「labo」をインディーズ・レーベル よりリリース!その卓越したバンドサウンドと山村隆太(Vo.)の切なくも力強い歌声をもってflumpoolの快進撃が始まる!

TITLE通り。あと一歩。椎名林檎さんBUMP OF CHICKENさんMr.Childrenさんなど2000年代を代表するアーティストの影響がすごい出てます。類似しすぎな点もありますが、それは、素直だからという点も。80年代の曲。特にロックやバンドをやるなら、洋楽をたくさん聞いて吸収して、フランプールというジャンルをつくってほしい。
次回作で彼らの運命が決まるだろう。

話題になっていますが、楽曲やバンド自体の質の高さというより、デビューの何ヶ月も前から、あれだけ仰々しくプロモーションすれば･･･と言った感じです。

大人の事情を抜きにしてしまえば、今まで幾度となく産まれては消えていったJ-POPマーケットに特化した凡庸なロックバンドだと思います。
ただ、この種のバンドが不用意に奇をてらう傾向がある中、あくまで歌にフォーカスをあて、ありふれたアレンジで、やや不器用なくらい古典的で折り目の正しい楽曲構成にしている点は素敵です。

他の方も書かれていましたが、二作目以降が勝負でしょう。
この意外性のなさで普遍的な良作を出せるのか、それとも、惰性になってしまい飽きられてしまうだけなのか。

タイトルの内容に尽きます。
急速な宣伝展開の仕方や、シングル相当曲２曲「花になれ」「ひかりの橋」が楽曲提供されていることなど、あまりに売れ急ぎ過ぎているといえるのではないでしょうか。
自作曲はミスチルに歌い方・歌詞・曲調どれも劣化した状態で酷似しているだとか、声質がバンプオブチキンに似ているだとか（これは生来のものなので仕方ないが）、さまざまな懸念事項を指摘されていますが、まずはシングル相当曲を自分たちが創った曲で売り出せなければバンドとしてスタート地点に立てているかどうかも危うい。
今のままではバンドとして名乗ることもおこがましいというのが実際のところでしょう。
