TVアニメ「喰霊 -零-」のEDテーマソング。
歌うのは同作品にて土宮神楽の姉代わりの存在で、後に敵となる諫山黄泉を演じる水原薫さん。
OPの「Paradise Lost」が神楽をイメージして作られたのと同じように、こちらは黄泉をイメージして作られています。
作詞はc/wも含めてランティスの顔とも言える畑亜貴さんが担当しているのですが、相変わらずの良い仕事で、見事に黄泉というキャラクターを捉えた歌詞に仕上がっております。
まず「夢の足音がきこえる」ですが、こちらは作・編曲を数々のアニメやPCゲームの主題歌を作ってきた虹音さんが担当し、儚さと力強さを兼ね揃えた楽曲になっています。
また、歌詞には黄泉の葛藤や後悔、諦めといった感情が表現されており、内容を知っている方には納得の出来だと思います。
対して、c/wの「delight and alive」の作・編曲はBEMANIシリーズで有名なTatshさんとランティスの楽曲ではよくお目にするchokixさんが担当。
しっとりとした儚い楽曲に、黄泉の神楽に対する想いや決意などの感情が込められた歌詞が相俟って、ある意味「夢の足音がきこえる」よりも黄泉らしさが出ている楽曲になっています。

どうしても茅原実里さんが歌うOPの「Paradise Lost」と比べると地味に感じてしまうかもしれませんが、OPと同様に妥協のない素晴らしい楽曲には違いありません。
「喰霊 -零-」を見た事のある方にも、ない方にもオススメの一品です。

OPと比べるとキャッチーさの無いヘヴィなマイナー調の曲ですが、アニメの内容を知って聞くと、そのシリアスな雰囲気に鳥肌がたちます。TVサイズではなく、フルサイズで聞くとより魅力的な曲です。
二曲目delight and aliveは、ピアノの音が印象的などこかオリエンタルな雰囲気の曲。こちらもなかなかよいです。
