前作「love the world」や「シークレット・シークレット」は
最近多かった可愛らしいテクノポップサウンドにちょっとした恋愛要素を含む作風の
ある意味集大成的なものだと思いますし、個人的にも凄く好みでした

ますます一般層へも浸透していくなかで聴いた今回の「Dream Fighter」…
一聴した瞬間に感じたインパクトは、正直に言うとあまりよろしくないものでした
が、しかし聴きこむたびに良さを発見するのは毎度のことでして
（もちろん、耳が慣れるからというわけでなく…）

今回も声にかつてない程エフェクトをかけておきながら、
その歌唱が演奏のように成り下がることは無く、
個々の特色を残しつつもむしろグイグイと迫ってくる
ラストにかけてのドラマチックな展開、
そして間髪入れずに始まる「願い」への流れは素晴らしい


どういったアプローチでも新鮮な驚きに繋がるのは彼女達の強みだと思います
「リニアモーター・ガール」でも「おいしいレシピ」でも「Butterfly」でも
PerfumeはPerfumeであるという器用さがいいですよね

何だってできそう

「願い」は７０年代後半頃の松任谷正隆がタイムマシンで現れてアレンジしたらこんな感じになるだろうか、と思わせる曲で驚きました。その頃は、 JPOP 萌芽期で今や巨匠と呼ばれるミュージシャンがネイキッドな才能を輝かせていた頃です。目を閉じて聞いているとユーミン/ティン・パン・アレーが３０数年経てPerfume/中田ヤスタカで現代風に蘇ったような錯覚になります。４０代も半ばを過ぎた私にとっては、遠い記憶を手繰り寄せる感覚になり、懐かしくって涙が出そう。それから、この曲はインストだけかけていても心地よくなりますよ。この音楽、今の子たちにはどう聞こえるのだろうか。

切ない疾走感の中、一気に駆け抜けてゆく「Dream Fighter」。
歌の世界観は、Perfumeとそのファンへのメッセージのように感じます。
2008年、大きな夢と成功を叶えたPerfume。
でも、これで満足せずにこれからも走り続けるから!
そんなPerfumeの決意が込められているように聞こえます。
同時に、厳しい現実と明るくない未来の間に、不安を感じながら生きる僕らへの応援歌のようにも聞こえます。

浮遊感が心地よく漂う「願い」。
Perfumeとして走り続ける3人の、何気ない心象風景を描写しているように感じられます。
淡々とした言葉の一つ一つが、さりげなく印象に残ります。
同時に、Perfumeを取り巻く今の状況を、一歩引いて眺めているようにも感じられます。

この作品からは、ヴァーチャルな世界を抜けて、リアルな世界に触れようとするPerfumeの変化が感じられます。
