シングルをコンプリートしてないOTファンなら迷わず買いです（って言わんでも買うか）。

また、普通のアルバムとして見てもコストパフォーマンスはめちゃくちゃ高いと思うので、奥田民生ビギナーにもお勧めします。
カップリング曲と言えども侮るべからず。名曲、迷曲、ライブ音源、カバー曲と盛りだくさんです。
個人的には、オリジナル曲では「健康」「ワインのばか」「夕日ヶ丘のサンセット」なんかがたまらなく好きです。

ちなみに、「人の息子」はアルバム『30』に収録されてますよ。
『記念ライダー1号/2号』とあわせると、どのアルバムにも収録されてないのは「休日」だけだと思います。多分。

ファンとしては記念ライダーよりこっちのほうがうれしいです。隠れ名曲多数です。民生の才能を知るのに重要な１枚だと思います。陽水や拓郎のカバーもいいです。カバーがオリジナルを超えることはまれですが民生はすっかり自分のものにしています。歌い手としての才能も再確認できます。

奥田民生は私にとって邦楽ロックを聴き始めたきっかけ、
正確には日本でもこんなにロックを表現できるアーティストがいるんだ
と気づかせてくれた人と言ったほうがいいでしょうか。
とにかく別格なんです。

コード進行は単純だし抑揚のない平坦な唄は、時には「お経みたいだね」
なんていう人もいるけど・・・まぁ奥が深いという意味じゃお経にも勝るかな。
お坊さんゴメンなさい。

民生の曲には、ビートルズやストーンズ、フェイセズなんかのロックテイスト
が垣間見えたりするけど、そんな影響を自分なりに消化して独特の歌詞のっけて
オリジナリティにしちゃってるところがすごいと思う。
いい加減なようで計算しているんじゃないかって思える歌詞の適当さや的確さ加減。
とにかくミック・ジャガーがそうであるように年取ってもロックして欲しいです。

ところでこのアルバム。
「記念ライダー」がＡ面的アルバムならば、さしずめＢ面というところでしょうか。
でも、このＢ面集がとてもいいです。私個人としては、Ａ面より気に入ってます。

アルバムの原曲よりもさらにねちっこい「ロボッチ」ライブバージョン
ワウワウギターでロックむんむんの「Hey Bulldog」
軽快でノリノリなポップチューン「夕陽ヶ丘のサンセット」
井上陽水の曲をハードにカッコよくカバーした「最後のニュース」
オリジナルよりロックンロールな「マシマロ(ック)」ライブバージョン
なんかがお気に入りです。
それとエンディングの「The STANDARD 〜消灯〜」
バンドベーシストの”お遊び”？的なフレーズを入れちゃうあたりがニクイです。

とにかく内容の濃いお得なアルバムであることは間違いなし。

コーヒーのＣ/Ｗの人の息子が入ってないのが残念ですね。
自分の中じゃＴＯＰ５に入る曲なんですが。
かっこいい曲なんですけどね。
