まだ使用して3日目ですが、その間に感じた感想です。

AVCREC方式のハイビジョン録画画質は、当初の予想を超えたものでした。
HG,HX,HE,HLの4つのモードが選択でき、最も長時間録画モードのHLでもハイビジョン画質を十分に保持しています。
HLモードの場合でDVD-R（4.7GB）に2時間10分、BD-R（25GB)に12時間もハイビジョン画質で録画できることはまさに驚異的であり、ユーザーとして待ち望んだレコーダーと言えます。
操作性も違和感なく使いやすいのも助かります。
今後、AVCREC方式が普及することで、他機種との互換性が出れば申し分ありません。

　BDレコーダーのヘビーユーザーにとっては当たり前のことかもしれないが、初BDレコーダーの私には結構新鮮な感動があった。
　既に後継機のBW850が発表されており、値段も結構安くなっているようなので、個人的にはお買い得と思う。

　よい点は、
　・HLモード（5倍速？）でも相当な高画質であること。ちょっと奮発してHXモードにしても、25GBのBD-Rに6時間録画できるのは、DVDにSPモードで2時間しか録画できなかったこと（シャープARW25）と比較すると感動もの

　・D-VHS（私のは日立DT-DRX100）とi-linkで繋いでダビングすれば、アナログで録画されたVHSビデオも本機にハイビジョン録画できること。
　パソコンでのキャプチャに比べ、遙かに美しくて感動。
　これで、（もてあましていた）VHSライブラリはもう持たなくて済みそうで、これも感動。ダビング終了で自動終了してくれるわけではないので、大変な手間がかかるが。

　・番組表は以前買ったVIERA（PX600）のものよりも精細で見やすくなっているように感じる。　　

　悪い点は、あまり感じないが、敢えて言えば
　・（分かっていたことではあるが）私の持っているDVDレコーダー（シャープARW25）からHD録画した番組以外はBW850にムーブできないこと。
　カメラから取り込んだハイビジョン映像もダビングできないので、再度、取り込みの手間がかかるのは残念。　
　・リモコンの反応が遅いこと

　でも、実質10万円を切る値段なら文句は言えない。
　あとは、ブルーレイ・メディアの値下がり待ちである。
　急速に値段は下がるであろうから、HDDの容量を相当食うまで、メディアの購入はしない予定である。
